What an amazing offering. So easy to access and you could not ask for a better spot. I attended both mornings that I was on South Beach for a work trip. If I lived there, I'd go daily.

I couldn’t say enough great things about this company. They offer donation based classes every day sunrise and sunset on the beach. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The scenery the vibes, the yoga, it’s exactly what I’ve been needed.

My first time doing yoga so I can’t compare it to anything but I enjoyed it! The instructor was nice and great at centering and giving good instructions. I’d recommend bringing a towel over a yoga mat, it’s easier to do yoga on sand. Do beware that the sand trucks might be there plowing sand in the morning.

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had. I did the Friday evening class led by Sujal. Imagine a comprehensive yoga class under the open sky, the sound of waves crashing in the background, and the instructor giving you an overview of who we really are as humans. Truly a spiritual experience. I can’t wait to do this class again when I’m in Miami. Bring a towel and donation for your instructor!

These classes are led by a rotating group of experienced local instructors who ensure the practice is accessible, relaxed, and tailored to participants’ ability levels. The classes typically last between 60 and 90 minutes and take place right on the sand, which adds a natural challenge and softness that encourage mindful movement and focus. No reservations are necessary for regular classes, which adds a layer of spontaneity and ease for your group to enjoy without hassle.
What are the benefits of attending a beach yoga class as a group at this location? Practicing yoga on the sand introduces a natural instability that strengthens muscles and improves balance more intensely than indoor floor yoga would. Doing this alongside friends encourages motivation and camaraderie, making it easier to keep committed and engage fully in the experience. The ocean setting reduces stress and uplifts mood through peaceful sights and sounds. The timing of the sessions—coinciding with sunrise or sunset—also means the lighting and ambiance are always mesmerizing, perfect for those looking to feel inspired or celebrate special occasions. Additionally, since the instructors volunteer their time and classes run on donations, the environment remains humble, authentic, and community-focused, which many participants find refreshing compared to commercial studios. This creates a shared value among your group that wellness is accessible and rooted in kindness.
How can you make the most of your group’s visit to 3rd Street Beach Yoga? To prepare, your group should bring large beach towels or blankets for comfort on the sand, as yoga mats are not provided or sold on-site. Hydration is key, so water bottles and sun protection like hats and sunglasses are advisable. Arriving early gives your group time to settle in and enjoy the peaceful beach atmosphere before class begins. After the session, your group might consider exploring nearby cafes or eateries for a healthy brunch or refreshments. The nearby area also offers various accommodation options if you plan a weekend or extended meetup. Furthermore, if your group is larger or you want a customized experience, booking a private class can add a special touch with tailored sequences and focused attention from the teacher.

The volunteer instructors come with a genuine passion for sharing yoga from the heart, fostering a welcoming vibe that encourages all skill levels to participate and feel comfortable. This ethos helps visitors feel part of something bigger, not just attending a class but joining a movement of health, connection, and mindfulness by the ocean. How does the environment influence the overall experience at 3rd Street Beach Yoga? Being outdoors on the sandy shores, surrounded by ocean air, natural light, and the soothing sound of waves, deeply enhances the yoga practice. The beach setting invites mindfulness and presence, qualities that yoga seeks to nurture. Practicing as the sun rises or sets adds a magical quality and rhythm to the sessions, uniting your group in a shared moment of nature’s beauty. Unlike indoor studios, where external distractions are reduced but less natural, this setting offers fresh air and a connection to the earth beneath you, increasing relaxation and mental clarity. For groups, this immersive environment strengthens social bonding, making each moment feel special and memorable.
What practical tips should your group follow to enjoy 3rd Street Beach Yoga together? Arrive with good timing to choose space and settle down before class begins. Dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes that allow easy movement and can handle some sand. Bring your own towels or blankets for cushioning since yoga mats are not supplied. Pack water bottles to stay hydrated, and consider sunglasses and sunscreen for protection. Check the weather beforehand since classes can be canceled if it rains or if temperatures drop below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. No reservations are needed for daily sessions, but for private or large groups, reach out beforehand to coordinate. After class, your group can extend the day with a picnic, beach volleyball, or simply relaxing by the shore to deepen your shared experience.
