I could not have had a more positive experience with Abe. He's great at what he does and also a very pleasant person. I stopped by his shop with my bow and he talked me through all the available hairs and the benefits of each. He was very transparent about costs and timeline, which were both more than reasonable. Abe is not only an amazing dealer, repairer, and archetier, he is a man of great integrity and value. Many dealers are in it for the quick or large sale, but Abe definitely cares about the entire experience and makes sure that every aspect of purchasing a new bow is perfect. His shop is the only bow shop in San Diego and I would not trust anyone else with my rehairs. If you are looking for a fine bow that has been prepared immaculately and service that is excellent as well as earnest, Abe is definitely my first choice in all of Southern California. Abe’s repair prices are objectively lower than the competition while the craftmanship is of the highest caliber and most importantly is that they are honest and transparent. His inventory is small at times, but if you give him a budget and time, he will surely find you something amazing. Though my review sounds like a paid advertisement, the amount of respect, genuine love for the industry, and communication that Abe has shown me has left a very strong impression on me and I hope my experience brings more visibility to his great business!

This shop is amazing! I want in to get my bow re-haired and end it up buying an amazing fiberglass bow as a backup for about the same price! Abe had to step out so Jasmine helped me, who was very helpful and informative about bows! And I also found out that the place rents out violin, viola and chello as well for a reasonable price. If your child starts playing violin, don't buy a cheap violin online since they don't sound good and they will outgrow or lose interest. Rent good quality ones from a place like this!

I drove down to San Diego from Los Angeles to get a rehair on one bow and a new thumb leather on another from Abe Liebhaber Bows. It was totally worth the drive! The inexpensive bow that Abe rehaired now plays like a much more expensive bow. And unlike rehairs that I have gotten in the past, the hair didn't feel slippery on the strings and take some playing in to have some bite on the strings. On the contrary, the hair felt great from the very first down bow! Jasmin did an excellent job replacing the thumb leather on my other bow. In short, great work, reasonable prices, fast service, and nice people to boot. UPDATE: I recently made the kind of long drive from Los Angeles down to Abe Liebhaber Bows for the second time, roughly a year after my first trip to Abe's shop. My positive experience on the first trip was only reinforced on this second visit. Abe did a wonderful job rehairing my main bow. Moreover, while I waited for him to rehair my bow, I got to try some fantastic bows that he had in stock. My two favorites--a contemporary bow and a baroque bow-- were both made by Abe himself. Indeed, I liked the contemporary bow so much that I may ask to take it for a longer trial. Not only do Abe and Jasmin do superb work, but they are very cool people, and I enjoyed my visit with them very much.
