My party of 2 rented standup paddleboards. Pros: Staff was friendly, price was good for how long we were out on the water, and great location in the bay which is not too busy and has a lot of space to navigate around other boats/people. Cons: Equipment had minor faults. Both mine and my boyfriend’s paddleboards had minor issues. The elastic bands to hold personal items were all worn loose so they didnt work at all. The grip on my boyfriend’s board where one usually places one’s feet was peeling. The adjustable portion of my paddle kept slipping (changing the length of my paddle) so I had to stop several times to adjust. And the paddleboards didn’t have the ankle tether, although I noticed that the boards from other nearby rental places also do not have ankle tethers so maybe it’s the norm for the area. Overall had a pleasant experience. I’ve done SUP in many places and this one is one of the top locations.

I booked a pontoon for 11 people on their website and they told me I could only have 10 when I got there. I showed them what it said on the website and how I could select up to 11 people. The worker told me he would “talk to upper management” about the issue but could only have “10 heartbeats on the boat.” So, there I was waiting around to see who I had to kick out of my group, and my dad graciously decided to take the bullet for the rest of us. When we got on the boat, there was a safety label that said there could be a maximum of 12 people on the boat. Good to know I sent my dad home on a 30 minute drive because upper management didn’t update their website. Apart from that, the other staff was super nice and helpful, but our experience was already ruined by the one guy at the front desk with a power trip.

I've rented Hobie Getaway. the staff was friendly and helpful. process was fast and painless. the reservation email stresses need for experience, but none has been checked. not that it is necessary. the Hobie Getaway is typical resort cat. it's rather slow and safe. mine wasn't particularly new and had missing benches. overall good for the price and good experience. parking on the resort is 30 bux.

Always a pleasure to rent a sailboat down at Sail Bay with Action Sports (across from the Catamaran hotel). The staff there is always courteous and helpful, sending the boat out, and coming back and taking over after I dock. I had a great time sailing with my brother, and prior to that, with my son. I'm gonna keep sailing there.

The lack of functional equipment was disappointing. The tandem bike we rented was rusted, and despite the other rusted equipment being unavailable, this bike was. We were also told we would be able to use one of the double tandem bikes (a staff member offered to hold the bike for us). When we returned from lunch we noticed that the bike we told would be held for us was being rented out to another group of people. The only reason this review is not at one star is because there were two stuff members who were sincerely apologetic. I appreciated their attitudes during these inconveniences. tl;dr: Faulty equipment, unsatisfactory staff.
