He is a true professional. 1. The Engineer Himself: It is vital to feel comfortable creatively with your engineer. This can be influenced by their understanding of music, workflow, focus, knowledge of sound and personality. When one of these are out of balance then the process is affected. Alex is on point. 2. Sound Capture/Recording Quality: Naturally "the sound" needs to be excellent. Morelli has the technical skill, equipment, and knowledge base to capture audio at a level that I would put up against any studio recording, large or small. Morelli understands microphone types, frequencies and mic placement. The result is a true, high quality audio capture. 3. Post production: Trust me when I say the job is far from finished after the artist has laid down their tracks. At this point it is in the hands of the engineer to bring the performance to it's final polished level. Alex Morelli really shines here. He has an excellent ear and technical skill. He is also great at collaboration and helping to realize the artist's vision. This is where technique and artistry meet, and ultimately where an engineer/producer reveals their true talent. I have recorded at many studios, worked with many people and I can say that Morelli has surpassed them all in being able to bring a final mix, edit and master to completion.
