Fantastic little theater that brings huge productions, and the prices are incredible for the top quality shows that come by. Talk about a gem of a place! 05.30.2025 Opening Night. The A.R.T. was absolutely fantastic! Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) is a heartfelt, clever, and refreshingly modern musical that had the audience laughing, tearing up, and cheering by the end. The chemistry between the characters Dougal (Sam Tutty) and Robin (Christiani Pitts) was undeniable, the songs were catchy and emotionally rich, and the direction brought the streets of NYC to life right on stage. A perfect blend of humor, heart, and humanity. Bravo to the cast and crew for a stunning performance, a must-see this season - with performances been extended through July 13th.

I went to see Two Strangers Carry a Wedding Cake Across NY City this month. Planned it out with time for parking and driving from Newton to Cambridge. All the garages were full so we had to park across the river and walk 15 minutes which was fine but knowing we were already past curtain time, it gave me some angst. The pleasant theatre staff could not have been more willing and ready to get us to our seats encouraging us it would be ok. They calmed us down, sat us promptly. All seats are great. Wonderful theatre. Love the 60’ 70’s building. Ample variety of hot and cold beverages including alcohol and snacks.

I saw Gatsby here recently. This theater didn't allow phones, so they provided a locking pouch which you'll need an usher or staff member to remove. There was one set of all-gender bathrooms, which were clean, but during intermission, the line gets long. They sell drinks and food during shows as well, and the seats are nice. Even the obstructed view seats aren't too bad!
