In my role as an English teacher, I had the opportunity to visit the museum for a field trip with two colleagues and 47 ninth graders from our school in Villa Park, Illinois. Students expressed lots of excitement, joy, inspiration, wonder, respect, curiosity and interest during and after our visit, and it was common to hear that they wished it had lasted longer. Some expressed interest in returning. I had a wonderful experience there I really got to know new things about American history …there was this section where you can type your own story on the vintage typewriter that was very interesting …another part that I liked was there were some cards hanging where immigrants can share there own story in their own words …those little notes were so impactful and really tells a lot about immigrants’ struggle … the Museum has also a section where you can read the books of renowned writers and learn about American culture and history. I definitely recommend visiting this museum

Just a wonderful treasure chest of American Writers, the written word including drama, classics, comedy, music lyrics and comic books. A complete hands on museum. Interactive displays screens and good old-fashioned typewriters that you start a story or continue some one else. Loved this museum so very much.
