I absolutely love this place. I recently moved to NYC, and the staff here have got to be the friendliest people in the city! The sign outside says to come in and ask them about wine because they love to talk about it. And they aren't kidding! Scott and Michelle are so incredibly friendly and helpful. Scott makes the best recommendations! He seriously knocks it out of the park every time. The wine he recommended last time was a hit with my friends- one of whom rarely even drinks wine! I also really enjoy their emails. You can tell they take pride in their work and enjoy being there. I'm so glad I live nearby. Can't recommend this place enough!

Ok so I’ve been coming here for a few years and a I rarely leave reviews but this place deserves one. I’m pretty ok with my wine knowledge. I know the basics. My dad was a collector so I can kinda work my way around a wine list. Typically wine stores on the UWS (with some exceptions) have a basic selection of wine you can find anywhere and the a handful of outrageously overpriced bottles. Amsterdam wine is different. The two partners (Sabrina and the tall guy) really love and understand wine. They have a great selection of the things you know to expect. But even more, they have a wild selection of just the craziest and most interesting wines. I got a Sicilian wine that was 85% Nero d’avola and 15% whatever the hell the ancient Greek, unnamed vines growing in the winemaker’s land thrown into the mix. I’ve gotten Hungarian skin contact wines from grapes I’ve never heard of. The partners truly love wine and make sure to steer me into the fun and interesting bottles. The ones that you just want to tell your friends about and save for get togethers. The wines are wonderful and absolutely reasonably priced. I’m so happy I live near this place but it’s honestly worth a trip even if you don’t live on the UWS. If you live on the UWS you have no excuse not to stop by
