This is one of the the larger needlepoint stores in NYC that I’ve visited and was pleased with the wide variety of canvases and threads available. The price points of the canvases were comparable to what is offered online but there appeared to be a 50% markup on threads (including different brands, textures and sizes). Despite having spent the better part of hour in roughly the same spot debating the right color/type of threads for my newly acquired project (I’m admittedly new to the craft), none of the available staff offered any assistance. My only staff interaction was with an elderly woman who brusquely told me I had to leave because they were closing (an incredibly fair point but was said so discourteously that I was in shock). It’s possible everyone had had a long day. All in all, I will likely return when I’m in need of supplies.

IF you love fiber arts you gotta go here. Esp great needlepoint options. It was my first time there and I always gauge a place by the response I get when I walk in the door. Some fiber shops still have a "ladies only" sort of vibe. Annie's staff was very friendly and helped me find what I needed which meant I ended up buying way more than what I came for. I will definitely be shopping there again.

I was visiting the city and came in hoping to get some help getting started on a new hobby. I walked in and was completely ignored by every employee in the place. It was strange because everyone else seemed to get welcomed except for me. I wandered aimlessly around the store for a bit looking at canvasses but since I’m new to needlepoint didn’t really know what I was looking for. Nobody ever came up to ask if I needed help. Eventually I left but the whole experience was very awkward. Kind of felt like they were ignoring me on purpose. Oh well, I will spend my money elsewhere :/

I used to live close by and now I go out of my way to visit this place. My grandma loves it as well. Great selection of yarn, needlepoint, embroidery supplies. Kits for all levels, patterns etc. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable.

I visited this shop while I was visiting NYC this week. I am a needlepointer and I was not disappointed. First, the shop is expansive and well organized. Lots of canvases and fibers. Second, the care they were showing other customers while I was in blew me away (the customer was elderly and escorted by a family member. The associate helping was gentle and caring while helping her. Even offering her arm to escort her around the shop when the family member stepped out. The associates attention was 100% on this person. This interaction in itself showed the character of the shop to me.) You didn’t feel like just another person passing through. When I asked for help, they didn’t hesitate to help me and they were so nice to answer all my questions. They had super cute baskets for when you wanted to kit something (bespoke and collected over time was the vibe), and more than one “kitchen table” (idk what to call it) where you could set your stuff down to shop or to sit at. I was so happy I made the trip to stop into this shop! When I’m in the city again, I’ll definitely make it a point to come back in 🩷
