Why Arizona School of Classical Ballet is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
The Arizona School of Classical Ballet, located in Phoenix, Arizona, stands out as a premier destination for ballet training rooted deeply in the Russian Vaganova method. Founded in 2005 by experienced instructors Joseph Caruana and Kee-Juan Han, this school offers a comprehensive dance education for a broad range of students, from beginners to those aspiring to professional careers. The curriculum caters to young children with a specialized four-year preparatory program for ages 3 to 7 and advances to more serious and technically demanding ballet studies for older students, including pointe work when ready. Besides classical ballet, the school enriches its students with diverse dance styles such as character dance, flamenco, modern, and jazz, fostering versatility and artistic growth. What makes the school especially welcoming for social gatherings and group experiences is its recreational dance program for all ages and an adult ballet program tailored for those seeking less intensive yet enriching dance opportunities. Directed by Nadya Zubkov, whose extensive background includes leadership roles in Moscow and Ballet Arizona faculties, the school boasts an expert faculty committed to delivering high-quality instruction. The presence of a dedicated music instructor who teaches piano and music theory further complements the dance education, nurturing a holistic artistic environment. My daughter has been training with Ms Irina and Mr K for almost 3 years now. Ms Irina treats every student like they are her own children. She is so loving and genuinely caring. On top of this, Ms Irina and Mr K are both extremely talented experienced Vaganova practitioners. Very high quality and focused ballet program.

First of all Mr. Kharatian and Ms.Irina are both incredible instructors and have danced professionally. I am honored to have them teach my grand daughter. The technique that she has learned in the short time she has been there speaks volumes. The admin staff are friendly and professional. The atmosphere is that of a family. I drive 32 miles many times a week just so my grand daughter can get professional instruction. So, if you or anyone is looking for an amazing school, you WILL NOT be disappointed! That’s a fact!

Both my daughters have been coming to ASCB since they were 3 years old... they started as little angels in Nutcracker and now they are almost ready for point. Couldn't ask for more. Fantastic opportunity for kids to perform in real ballet on big stage twice a year with professionals and the best of costumes!!! Ms. Irina, Mr. K and Ms. Susan are the best teachers in the valley to train your ballerinas of all ages. If you are looking for real Russian ballet, Vaganova, this is the place to go!!! Kids love to come to this small, but friendly and passionate school :)

I love the staff. I love how they were all professional dancers, so they know what it takes to get there and most importantly my daughter loves this place, the people, and the atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The girls work very hard to be the best dancers, and the instructors help keep them on track to be the best they can be. I'd give ten starts if i could.

Finally writing this review. This school used to be good and the $$$$$ was worth it. Now they just focus on two children. Their daughter and another teacher's daughter. It's a school for two children. So sad because people used to like it there. Now everyone else just brings in money. The owners barely teach (besides the classes that their daughter attends). Multiple levels are combined because teachers (owners) don't show up. It is not uncommon to have 3 levels combined. How can accurate teaching take place? Or how can a 1 level keep up with 3 or vice versa? One teacher Ms. Sabina (for littles) runs the entire school. So she has to combine the classes. The owners are absent so many times. The front girl who is a student herself jumps in at times and teaches. They only take their daughter's and the other teacher's daughter ballet training serious regardless of how much money you drop there. If you have a school you have to focus on all children not just your own. The owners should be there for all children and try to spotlight others besides only two kids. It was time to change and glad we did.
