Lovely little ceramic studio offering wheel throwing and hand building classes, workshops, drop-ins, and memberships. Options for kids, adults, and couples. And they have a huge CD collection to provide some old-school ambience!

We had the most incredible time at Austin Clay Arts! Having never worked with clay before, I wasn’t sure what to expect and had no idea what I would make. But Justin was a thoughtful, patient teacher, who provided guidance, inspiration, and who jumped in to help when overly ambitious projects gave way to gravity. I loved the lively atmosphere of this studio, which is so clearly family-run and family-oriented and inspired by a love of the artform. I really appreciated having the chance to be a beginner again and am motivated to come back and keep taking classes. Not to mention that a night at Austin Clay Arts would be a fun activity for a birthday party, a gathering of friends, or a date! I can’t wait to go back!

I am pure beginner and have zero knowledge on wheel throwing. Justin is helpful and inspire us to try things and grow. Studio offers open studio hours which will be very helpful for improving your throwing skills. I wonder how I am able to do some clay work. This is the best place if your are trying to start clay arts.

This was such a wonderful experience. Not only because we had a phenomenal group, but we had a fantastic teacher in Justin. I’ll update when I get a picture of my final pieces, but it was my first time using a turn table for clay and Justin was so helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to calmly guide my unartistic self There is space for bites and drinks of interested as well, so it made it such a fun experience evening. They also do birthday parties for kids, which I think mine would love.
