Such a fun experience. Did the intro to swing class and the instructors did a great job teaching us in a short amount of tine to be ready for the social dancing hour. People were great.

I highly recommend this place! I'm not a dancer, I was terrified to go, but they do an amazing job making beginners feel comfortable. It was cheap too!

This is a really fun place to learn how to swing dance. Sometimes there's a lot of people but that can be a good thing too. I've tried swing dancing on and off for many years and this is the first place that I've decided to commit and to get a membership. This last Thursday night was the first night that I had to actually felt good about swing dancing and all the times that I've tried so I'm very thankful for the kindness and patience of everyone there.

This is the most amazing organization for swing dancing! The Thursday night dance at the Fed is always well attended and lots of fun. I've been going almost every week for over 6 years. And, the Syndicate hosts lots of other great events, like the Austin Lindy Exchange which happens every November (the week before Thanksgiving). The organization is run by volunteers who are dedicated to swing music and swing dancing. Come out and see for yourself.

I felt really lost in Austin for quite a while after moving back, but then a friend invited me to swing and I begrudgingly said yes. Little did I know, I was about to find the thing that keeps me here in Austin. I have only been going for about 4 1/2-5 months, but it has completely changed my worldview. The environment is welcoming and unafraid. Everyone is so kind to newcomers and we are all just excited that everyone is there. I have never spoken to anyone who didn't truly enjoy themselves at swing. It is Austin's best kept secret and I now tell everyone about it: strangers, friends, family members, and even my students! What a cool style of dance to keep alive.

This approach ensures that everyone from beginners to experienced dancers can enjoy the night together.
This welcoming structure reduces barriers that might otherwise discourage people from trying swing dancing. The Syndicate’s policies make it possible for your group to include friends who might be nervous or hesitant. Comfortable dress codes and affordable admission mean that attendees don’t have to invest heavily before they know if they enjoy the dance scene, making it a risk-free outing for your group to discover something new and exciting. Over time, as your group becomes more familiar, members can advance their skills and enjoy progressive classes offered monthly, enhancing the whole experience with personal growth and shared achievements.

Admission for live band nights is higher, but the enhanced ambiance and musical quality justify the cost for a special outing.
These unique events can serve as a highlight for your group's calendar, offering an opportunity to celebrate milestones, birthdays, or just a memorable night out where dancing to a real band amplifies the fun. Additionally, the Syndicate’s extensive 26-year history and solid reputation for well-run events mean you can count on an engaging, professional atmosphere no matter the event type.
