This peak is very nice and the trail is as well! The second, lower peak is better because of its amazing views of the city. Also the snow made the trail better, I heard it’s boringer in summer.

Seriously my favourite home near Salt Lake City. You can do so many micro trails in and around it. Great for anyone who wants to trail run, mountain bike, serious hike, or just take a stroll. The views are breathtaking the entire time. Words can't describe. I have even enjoyed a nice quiet picnic here. I go as often as possible.

There is very minimal shade and absolutely no water on this trail. So make sure to come prepared and early in the morning before it gets to hot. The wild flowers were gorgeous. And the views are amazing. So worth it.

Great hike with spectacular views of the city and the mountains. My watch clocked just under 4 miles roundtrip from parking to the top of the second peak. Elevation gain was 1295', so it's not "easy" but extremely doable for anyone in reasonable shape (even if not altitude acclimated). Trail has little to no shade; in the rain, it was fine but I imagine in the summer, it gets brutal hot. Trail is mostly dirt and rocks in good shape. Our trip was done in on and off rain and we had no issues with slick spots, except for a few in the very steep sections (but not at all treacherous, just take your time and wear sturdy shoes if it's wet). We were glad to be in hiking shoes/boots, mostly for the wet conditions, but we saw a lot of trail runners in trail shoes, on a dry day I'd think even sneakers would be okay. The trail is accessed via a trailhead in a neighborhood. We were the only ones parked there when we arrived on a Sunday, but I imagine this place gets busy. You can access a ton of other trails as well. We used AllTrails to make sure we stayed on the actual trail, it's decently marked though

This trail is rated moderate. 98.9% sunny. Don't plan on any shade. Trail was extremely dry, and dusty today which makes for a slippery decent. Good trail to use if you want a beautiful view of the city behind the Capitol. Lots is pebbles and rocks along trail, but not so bad you need hiking boots.
