I got a smash burger and it was okay. Bread was way too thick and there was a piece of lint on the lettuce. It was my first time buying food from here and it was easy to pick up. Little weird having your food come out of a locker but I might go back to try the other restaurants. Won’t be back for the burger.

I never usually write reviews but i just had to get this off my chest. As a native newyorker who’s been living in sandiego for three years now, today was the first time I ate a chop cheese in a few years. After taking the first bite it genuinely brought tears to my eyes from how good and familiar it was. I usually get disappointed when I order newyork style foods down here but today caught me so off guard. I deadass felt like I was in downtown brooklyn again getting a chopped cheese made by favorite ock 🥹. I was a bit skeptical at first when I seen chopped cheese on the menu because what yall Californians know about it lmaoo. But then I saw that it was a hala restaurant and gave it a chance. Sorry for the rant but I never would’ve thought a meal like this would make me so emotional and miss my hometown! Thank you 💕

So this is like a ghost kitchen. Sort of. It’s a place you can get food, and there’s people behind the scenes, but there’s no a person in sight. Everything is done on Grubhub/UberEats/Doordash. First time in person is wild for me. Just show your details from your phone to a camera and the door opens with your food when the app says your food is ready. But as far as a “classic cheeseburgers” go, it’s a smash burger. No edits allowed (as least from what I saw) That is what I got. And I gotta be honest. It’s one of the best smashed burgers I’ve ever had. The burgers are THIN and have that crispy laced edges. The sauce is insane, and the bread is perfect. Onions and pickles as well. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. And it’s a local place too. Which I love. Since it’s not a giant chain.

Smash and dash is always above and beyond what I've been craving all week! I kinda wish I didn't work in the food industry so I could eat there more 🤣. Chef Kyle definitely doesn't skimp on the flavor that's for sure! Each time I've eaten there (once a week) the burgs all have that perfect maillard crust not burnt either as I've had at other smash spots.

Love this food hub. So convenient. Wish they will keep expanding and have more options. (And the good vendors don’t close down or leave!) I love mama’s bowl. One of the Best Korean food i have had in San Diego.
