Went with my toddler to check out the splash pad. No shade and very limited street parking. I ended up parking in a 2 hour spot on the opposite end of the park. Good variety of fountains turning on sporadically kept my kid occupied while I sat on the perimeter wall. Good times!

Big Splash pad, volley ball net with sand, and toddler swings. Some picnic benches, and an open field.

The soccer field is nice - have seen people playing Frisbee and lacrosse on it too. The tennis courts are okay, but have a lot of cracks and need to be resurfaced. We finally got new nets recently though! The old ones had massive holes in them for a few months before Austin Parks and Rec decided to do something about it. There's a nice sand volleyball court and a water playground as well! Pretty safe area too since it's next to an elementary school and a hospital.

What should you know before planning a meetup at Bailey Neighborhood Park?

When planning a meetup at Bailey Neighborhood Park, it’s helpful to be aware that although the park is publicly accessible, it is privately owned, which means certain rules and event permissions may apply. Checking ahead with park management or local community resources can ensure your meetup complies with any guidelines and that facilities you desire, such as the covered stage or food truck scheduling, are available if needed. The park lacks evening lighting, so meetups planned after dark might require additional considerations for safety and visibility. While the area is well served by restroom facilities and parking, during large festivals or events, these might become crowded, so arriving early or carpooling can be beneficial. Lastly, the park’s outdoor nature means weather conditions will impact your plans, so have a backup plan or be prepared for sun or rain. With these considerations in mind, Bailey Park offers a welcoming and convenient backdrop for memorable and enjoyable group gatherings.
