The Koi Way, now rebranded as Bali Cafe, offers a delightful dining experience. I tried the Bakmi Jowo, Nasi Goreng, and Nasi Rendang—each dish was flavorful and authentic. The Bakmi Jowo stood out with its delicious taste, while the Nasi Rendang was perfectly tender and rich in flavor. The exterior signage and name may have changed, but the quality inside remains top-notch. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Indonesian cuisine!

Casual spot serving incredible, authentic Indonesian food. Got the beef rendang - it’s probably one of the best things I’ve eaten all year.

This was our first time trying this place and we were not disappointed in any way. Everything we ordered was boasting with flavor. We had numerous dishes: - the chicken soup was phenomenal; it was such a comforting, whole hearty soup with depths of flavor - the fried chicken was so crispy, but remained incredibly juicy - the turmeric rice was slightly sweet, but paired so well with the tender beef that was savory and velvety - the egg drop soup was balanced and perfect - the chicken skewer was simple, but had crazy flavor and smelled amazing - the fried rice and sesame chicken were such a hit, we had to order another round This place is legit. Using family owned recipes, each dish had immense flavor, touching every side of your palette and we will be returning!

I recently visited The Koi Way in Allen, Texas, and it was a delightful experience! I was on the hunt for a place to celebrate my mom's birthday with a group of 18 fun-loving folks, and The Koi Way came to the rescue. Linda, the super friendly owner from The Koi Way, was the first to respond to my post on the Asian grub hub on Facebook. She assured us that they could accommodate our large group and make my mom's birthday special. We were thrilled to hear that and decided to check out the restaurant. Surprisingly, The Koi Way was just a short 10-minute drive from our house. Convenience score! Now, most of us weren't experts in Indonesian cuisine, but the menu looked fascinating. We decided to dive into the appetizers, and boy, were we in for a treat. We ordered ayam kalasan (crispy fried chicken with a delightful crunch), ayam lengkuas (featuring galangal, a unique flavor), turmeric rice, nasi goreng (yummy Indonesian fried rice), rendang (a flavorful beef stew), chicken satay, risol (Indonesian egg roll), and batagor (a combo of fish cakes, steamed and fried). Our top picks were the chicken satay, the tender beef rendang, and the scrumptious ayam Kalasan. First-timers, take note! The restaurant had a fresh and modern ambiance with a slight suburban strip mall feel, but it was comfortable and pleasant. The best part was the warm and personalized service. Linda helped us navigate the menu and made us feel right at home. She even took the time to chat with our group, making the evening even more enjoyable. My family and I had a great time, and we're definitely planning to return. The Koi Way is a fantastic choice for trying out Indonesian cuisine in Allen, Texas. If you're in the mood for some tasty and adventurous eats, give it a go! FYI they have the option for halal meat and have different meat counters for pork items! A plus, for anyone looking for halal options.

Full flavored and gourmet level prepared food for the foody who cares about one thing only, the most delicious food you may ever eat. If you were not familiar with Indonesian food as I previously was not familiar with it , and if you enjoy Thai food, the The Koi Way will be one of your most memorable food experiences ever. The Chicken Satay with peanut sauce is by far the best I have ever eaten. A great appetizer and a great jump start for flavors yet to be enjoyed. We tried four different entries. Each were spectacular. I’m going out on a limb and saying that this establishment may be the first I have ever reviewed that I feel confident saying you could literally get anything on the menu and enjoy it. Go during the weekdays or weeknight to avoid the Saturday night crowds that already know about this gem. Don’t wait until every night is busy because this is something that won’t be the same for long either way.
