I’ve taken around 4 different classes from Bettie’s and I have been so thrilled with each class. I’ve taken a 4 week baking basic course, a gnocchi class, French pastries, and a sourdough bread class. Not only is everyone on her staff incredibly knowledgeable and kind, Baker Bettie (Kristin) is so wonderful! She is knowledgeable, patient and is always willing to help you! I have learned so much from each class and cannot wait to keep coming back! The space its self is clean, and so cute!! Everyone and everything there is thought about, I’ve always left full, more knowledgeable, and excited!

Bettie's Chicago was a blast! The tavern-style pizza class was a highlight, with easy-to-follow steps and fantastic staff who were friendly and efficient. The gourmet appetizers were a bonus! The intimate class size ensured we got the attention we needed to craft amazing pizzas. We're already planning our next class – can't wait to return!

My friend and I took the focaccia art class here while visiting Chicago for my birthday. This is perfect for a birthday, date night, bach party, or just a fun night out! The class was very well organized, educational, fun, and the facility is extremely clean. Very fair pricing for what you get. They provided appetizers while we were waiting for the dough to rise and you of course get to take home what you’ve made. Parking was incredibly easy to find as well. Will join for another class again in the future when I come back!

Wow, amazing, fun, must do, delicious. Just a few simple words I'd use to describe what Bettie offers at her location. I took her bagel making class and it was so so so fun! I learned so much and Bettie baker is incredibly smart, helpful, patient, and is a fantastic teacher! The bagel making class she and her team had already prepped the sponge then walk us through mixing the dough, proper kneading technique, shaping, and forming the bagel in the traditional way and the new water, then she walked us through the boil adding topping and the bake time. I have been making bagels for a bit and Bettie is helping me take my bagels to the next level. For any lovers of bagels go to her course it's amazing. Seriously bring questions I'm not kidding I left there with 2 full pages of notes from her. This is a great couples class but I went solo and even on my own it was a lot fun. I honestly can't recommend this enough to everyone.

Do not deprive yourself of this experience. This was some of the most fun I've had in a city with no shortage of options. I am so used to experiences like this being awkwardly disjointed with limitations and restrictions, but this was the exact opposite. The staff was knowledgeable and professional but still personable, and I was never told "no you can't do that." I am used to having the "fun" controlled, the assets skimpily divided, the owner trying to squeeze every cent out of an experience that, ironically, no one forced them to offer. For example, telling us we can only use one topping for our seasonings, not answering personal questions, not letting us experiment, rushing us out the door for the next class, etc. This was not so, by any measure. The entire staff cared so deeply about making sure everyone had the best time possible in a relaxed atmosphere while still making incredible tasting, professional quality food. There was so no stuffiness or haughtiness like you may expect from a kitchen staff, and "Baker Bettie" would often answer a personal question asked of her without hesitation, even in the middle of doing something else, and seamlessly flow back into the presentation without missing a beat. A delightful, capabale, kind leader. Of course, everyone in the class caught the vibe right away, and no one took advantage of the generosity of the staff (that I could tell) so please don't be the one to ruin it for everyone. These are fantastic, empathetic, knowledgeable, generous people who more than deserve the entry cost of their class. Do not break the trust they have in their clientele. A high-trust experience like this is very rare and sorely missed in modern USA. I walked away from this class invigorated, nigh astonished that you could have a genuine human experience like this still, in a country so focused on profits over workers' rights, shareholder satisfaction over consumer satisfaction, quick cash grabs and scalping in every corner of the market. Bettie's puts the experience of their students high on their priority list, and while I'm sure her business comes with a laundry list of challenges, you could tell that no one was unhappy to be working there, and that is the only way that a business should operate, in my humble opinion. If you have the chance, take it, and there is no doubt in my mind you will be enchanted. If you're tired of feeling taken advantage of economically, if you wonder if there is anywhere left in this country where you can trust the people you are buying from, then you absolutely need to book a session here, with your friends or family, and you can thank me later.
