My wife and I came to Austin for our anniversary in Decemeber and being a reasonably nice weekend we decided a bike tour would be a nice way to see the city. This was far and away the best tour we've been on. Our guide, Brenda, was extremely knowledgable about the city (both old and new), and very passionate about bike infrastructure. We'd pass through an intersection and she'd tell us the story of how this intersection came to exist in the first place - lobbying the city and state government, talking with people about safety, etc. The tour itself was great, seeing the lake, the capitol, the state graveyard, etc. but Brenda "filling in the gaps" with little history tidbits of what neighborhoods used to be there or this restaraunt that has been a local favorite for 50 years was spectacular. An afternoon with Brenda was worth the price and then some - if you are visiting Austin and want to pack in a lot of sightseeing and a couple miles in the saddle, there isnt a better way to get it done.
