Waited almost 40 minutes for my first steak just for it to be burnt and tasting like charcoal. second one came out literally raw and after being there for 90 minutes i decided i could make the food better at home and stopped wasting my time To be fair the server was nice but never got any utensils/napkins even when the food came out until i asked which i thought was weird because you’re supposed to have them already?

It’s been several years since I’ve been to BJ’s in Mission Valley. Thought I’d give it a try again since I enjoyed eating at the Menifee location during the holidays. It was a weekday afternoon (Thu 1/6/25) when my partner and I had lunch. We saw that BJ’s dining area was full, so we decided to sit at the bar area. There was a good amount of seats to choose from at the bar. There were only 3-4 others dining in this area, so it didn’t appear crazy busy, no bumping elbows or purses, rather, a more chill atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by the bartender. I forgot to get his name, he needs to be praised. He was mild mannered, friendly, patient and attentive. He was a multitasker-kind of a bartender. That’s the kind we like. It took us awhile to place our order as there was so much to choose from on the lunch menu. We then received our food in no time along with an extra personal BBQ chicken pizza. It was only one personal pizza that I had ordered. The other pizza was BJ’s specialty. The server that brought out the extra pizza was very apologetic as she explained that the error was on them. Minutes later another staff came by, also apologized for their mistake and would bring out the right personal pizza in moments time. Now that’s what I call double re-assurance and great team work. Customer service, with a smile. It was several minutes that had gone by when the correct pizza arrived. Both of our meals were delicious including our Pizookie dessert. No further issues. Happy campers, we were. To add, we got the lunch menu deal. If there’s anything to complain about, my partner would have rather selected a not so thick crust; I’m the opposite. The Cesar salad needed a picker-upper taste, it was missing something. Overall experience at BJ’s in Mission Valley was a 5 star ⭐️ Recommend👍🏼

We ate at BJ’s during our recent vacation to San Diego and really loved the food and experience. We didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes to seat the four of us, even during the busy period. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The brisket burger was delicious, along with the sweet potato fries. The kids also enjoyed their meals (penne pasta with alfredo and a meatball, and spaghetti with marinara sauce), although the spaghetti didn’t agree with my daughter’s stomach and she ended up throwing it up later that night. The sugar cookie pizookie was incredible.

Zero customer service, bad service , we got everything slowly we started with wings when no napkins or utensils provided at the table to start with so we had to wait to get it ; then the burger & fries with no ketchup or ranch or anything, we had to wait 15 min after receiving our burger to see one of the waiters to ask him for, by that time the food was cold, & i also asked for a BJ’s protein bowl with salmon they got me another plate & the waitress throws the plate & run she didn’t even waited for me to see the plate & it was a wrong plate from her then we had to wait for another waiter to get us our order , another thing my husband wanted to get some beer for every glass of beer we needed to wait for 30 min to get it, & they brought a half glass saying they are changing the keg & they still owes us another glass after that we get a tiny tasting beer glass but when we finished our food and everything like 40 min after the placed order. I don’t recommend going to this place , with this bad staff & bad customer service although the food it was good but I’ll never go back to this restaurant ever again.

I highly recommend the guacamole burger at this spot. I particularly like Caleb and Avery, who helped me out by picking up my food. The food is absolutely spectacular. I appreciate Caleb for helping me decide on a burger, and I love that they have gluten-free burger buns.
