I went to their weekly Friday board game nights and it was phenomenal! I was a bit nervous to go alone, but the staff was incredibly friendly and explained the event clearly beforehand and then then everyone else there was super welcoming and I had no trouble finding a group to play with. You can play games from their demo library (which has a ton of great options) or you can bring your own games. The store itself is very well organized and stocked with a whole selection of discounted second hand board games upstairs. I will definitely be going back, I highly recommend you check out their website for other fun events that they host!

Excellent collection of games (from the complex, unusual, popular, and all age ranges) and a very helpful and welcoming staff. Found a super interesting game I hadn’t heard of before and the staff member I asked about it gave me a very detailed personal review, with all the pros and cons, and we were happy to buy it after hearing his experience playing. Will go back whenever we are in Seattle!

Amazing place to try board games with friends! The employees are all super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I didn’t feel judged for not being super knowledgable about board games which I feel like can happen at other board game places. There is quite a bit of seating though the tables are close together. There are used board games for cheaper than the new ones and they are quite a good deal. Overall I liked this place a lot and I prefer it to other board game places in the area.

We have visited Blue Highway for years and it is consistently my favorite "third place" in Seattle as they maintain an extremely friendly and welcoming environment that you are able to access for free 90% of the time and the other 10% of the time for an extremely reasonable price. Prices for snacks and drinks are more than reasonable and beat any other spot. The games, yes, occasionally are more expensive than Amazon but it's 2025, you know that Amazon's whole thing is undercutting small businesses to the point they can't compete. Amazon doesn't host tons of weekly board game events, Amazon doesn't let you borrow games and play in their cozy store for free, if someone says Amazon is a better deal than Blue Highway, they haven't experienced even a percent of what Blue Highway offers. Go visit, go to an event, go try out new games, go support them because Seattle desperately needs to keep places like this.
