I am from Texas and regularly spend summers in Chautauqua with my family. I called the YMCA ahead of time and spoke with Mary about their classes and especially pickleball. She was so friendly and helpful as were the members who I played pickleball with the month we were visiting. Mary is in the right job for sure! I look forward to joining in again next summer and am grateful for the Colorado welcome. Thanks, "y'all"!

I love the drop in classes! The instructors are wonderful and there is quite a variety of classes. The folks at the front desk are friendly and helpful. The pool is wonderful and not overly crowded. I believe in the Y's mission.

Clean facility with a good selection of weights, machines and classes. I did a variety of class offerings and enjoyed them. Not only was the staff friendly, the gym goers were too. I was really impressed by how many times people in class went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and introduce themselves.

We spent the day here for a craft fair. We were one of 100 booths for a Christmas arts and crafts event. The place seemed to be clean, the bathrooms were clean and kept up. It seems as if the place was going through a renovation period… I’m not sure ? If I lived in Boulder or close by I would probably go back and use the facilities.

I joined this gym after ralleySport closed. The fitness center is very nice—huge weight room, separate place for cardio and machines plus a giant group exercise area. Sauna and pool also. The staff and trainers are wonderful; however the fitness Mgr is unfriendly and downright hostile for some reason. Perhaps she needs to work out more often?

Parents can rely on the Child Watch program, which provides care for children aged 6 weeks to 10 years for short periods, enabling adults to enjoy workouts or group activities without worrying about their little ones. There is also the YMCA Inspire Infant & Toddler Care and Preschool program on site, supporting families with young children up to 6 years old. Plus, the availability of a full suite of exercise studios—such as group exercise, cycling, and Pilates—allows groups to schedule classes or trainings tailored to their preferences. These well-thought-out amenities also include secure lockers for personal items, an indoor track for weather-proof activities, and seasonal outdoor splash parks for children. When you combine these conveniences with supportive staff and a community-minded atmosphere, you get a venue that goes beyond just being a gym—it becomes a versatile location for meaningful group connection and activity.

For group exercise classes, reservations are encouraged or required when equipment is limited, like in Pilates or cycling classes, so your group can plan ahead and secure spots together. Pool and sauna use rules ensure everyone’s comfort and safety, such as age restrictions and limits on time spent in the sauna, which keep the environment safe and pleasant. Dress codes require appropriate attire which adds to community comfort and hygiene. Additionally, the YMCA takes privacy seriously; recording devices are prohibited in locker rooms to respect personal privacy. Behavioral guidelines focused on respect and responsibility create an environment conducive to positive social interactions, meaning your group can enjoy their time without disruptions. These thoughtful policies ensure that your meetup at Boulder YMCA proceeds smoothly and with consideration for every participant’s well-being.
