Nice apps, pet friendly bar, waitress was really nice, served ice cold water and pup cup to puppy, outdoor patio was warm due to weather but both indoor and outdoor tables were full to watch NBA finals!

Absolutely love Broken Barrel Bar—it's a total gem in Lincoln Park. Dropped around $60 on the Broken Brisket Dip (14-hour hickory-smoked brisket with Muenster cheese and house-pickled peppers), a side of sweet potato fries, and a couple of their craft cocktails . The vibe is laid-back yet lively, with exposed brick walls, graffiti art, and a spacious beer garden that's perfect for hanging out with friends . Service was top-notch—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Whether you're catching a game or just grabbing a bite, this spot delivers on all fronts. Definitely my new go-to in the neighborhood.

We had a GREAT evening with Chelsea as our host. We reserved the Rose Room for our 14 guests and Chelsea did an amazing job catering to all our needs. The food staff did a great job bringing all our food out at the same time. Amazing for 14 people. Can’t say enough about Chelsea and her team. Very impressed with the service and quality of food and drinks. This place is a must visit. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Chicago. Thank you

Last Friday was one of the worst experiences I've had at a Chicago bar/restaurant. I came in around 5:45pm and asked the host how long the wait was for patio seating. She said it'd be a little over an hour but that there was room at the bar while I waited. So I put my name in, sat at the bar, and ordered some drinks/food while waiting for my table. After a while, I got a text saying my table for 5 was ready; but when I let the host know, she directed me to a table inside. I let her know that I specifically asked for seating outside, and she told me there was a private party that had the patio booked for the next few hours. Where was this information when I originally booked my reservation? My friends and I wanted to sit outside because it was a nice night out, and we wouldn't have stayed if I knew we'd be seated inside. An hour and a half of waiting, $50, and getting my friends hopes up all to waste. On the bright side, the food was pretty good. I would recommend the cheese curds and the wings. Just wished there was more transparency about seating since I would've picked a better time to go. While this was once one of my favorite restaurants/bars in the neighborhood, this experience put a sour taste in my mouth and I'm not sure if I'll return.

My visit to Broken Barrel Bar was marked by anticipation for a good meal and a lively atmosphere, but unfortunately, it fell short on several fronts. The food, a central aspect of any dining experience, was decidedly average. I opted for the smoked wings, attracted by the promise of chili maple and smoked Chipotle flavors, and the oakwood smoking process. However, the wings lacked the distinctive smoked taste I was looking forward to, which was a letdown. Additionally, I ordered the Mac and cheese with crispy chicken, which turned out to be more of a pulled chicken rather than the crispy delight I expected. The taste was mediocre, failing to leave a memorable impression. The truffle Parmesan fries, however, were a highlight of the meal. While they were tasty, a bit more warmth and crispiness would have significantly enhanced their appeal. A common issue with all the dishes was that they were served cold, which significantly detracted from the overall dining experience. Despite the generous portions, the quality of the food did not justify the price, leading to disappointment. The ambiance of the bar compounded my dissatisfaction. The space was overcrowded and excessively noisy, making conversation difficult. The proximity of the tables was uncomfortably close, to the point where my back was in constant contact with the person seated behind me. The seating arrangement consisted solely of high chairs without back support, further diminishing the comfort of my visit. In summary, my experience at Broken Barrel Bar was underwhelming. While the concept and menu items seemed promising, the execution in both the culinary and atmosphere departments left much to be desired. The combination of average food, uncomfortable seating, and a less than ideal dining environment means that I am unlikely to return. For those seeking a vibrant sports bar experience, it may still be worth a visit, but manage your expectations regarding comfort and culinary delight.
