This old and well-preserved hangar hardly in the middle of Austin TX is one of my absolutely favorite course for playing Petanque on Sunday afternoon at 3pm after the farmer’s market is finished. The “gang” of very hospitable friends of “Heart of Texas Pétanque Club” welcomed me twice in 2018 and now 2020, just early enough before the virus got the power against club life... Traveling through USA, playing Petanque, shipping back to Germany also playing, let me see you again in France playing another time, dear Jim... thxs for welcoming Vero and me! December 2021: Dear Jim, now you died before we could meet again in France. Rest in peace!

Very cool place for an event. Thoroughly enjoyed the view, the access to the "pond" through the fence as well as the whole park. Finding a parking spot for the minivan on a Saturday afternoon was tricky, but not impossible. Would recommend for outdoor event venue.

Great place to escape the hot sun. The farmer's market will move into this space during the summer and hot months. There are also picnic tables located here so you can enjoy a picnic or some good eats from the food trucks next door.

Beautiful area with lots of open space. The park is also very beautiful with a huge manmade lake. Plus, a movie theater, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops are nearby. And if I was still a kid, the Thinkery is right across the street. Really cool place!
