The food blends, spices, heat, sweetness, and other bold flavors together in such a delightful way. Cocktail program is outstanding with unique (but not “weird”) flavors pairings. Service is always top notch and very thorough. Don’t sleep on dessert!!

One of the best restaurants in Austin. Parking is free valet parking which was nice. The servers and staff are next level in terms of friendliness and knowledge on the menu. The highlights for us were the ceviche, jerk chicken and the wild boar pepperpot. Don’t miss either of these three dishes! Simply outstanding.

It was my first time trying Canje, and I’m disappointed that I didn’t come here sooner! Hands down - the best restaurant in all of Austin! We tried the Akara, Ceviche, Pepper Fish, Haitian Griot, Pepper Rice, Roti, Tres Leches, and Cassareep Ice cream. Each dish was perfectly cooked, prepared, and seasoned. There was not a dish that was underwhelming, which is hard to find. I would come back here every weekend if I could. Whoever was cooking on 7/12, please keep the food quality and flavor the same - I want to experience it all again!

Had a reservation on a Thursday evening, no wait, was already pretty packed. Vibrant restaurant and vibe. Great friendly service. Food/drinks: ordered the Sol Calypso, really didn't taste like anything, would try another drink next time. We ordered the Wagyu Beef Suya, melt in your mouth deliciousness! Would have ordered several of those if I could. Also, had the Wild Boar Pepperpot, tender meat, great flavor. The Roti, absolutely delicious! Only one roti came out, so I would order several from the get-go. Also had the Grilled Cabbage, jam-packed with flavor! It was so good but tiptoeing the line of saltiness. Regardless, would definitely come back if we're ever in Austin again.
