CDC is a super fun and friendly place to get certified for diving. You are guided through the process every step of the way and they definitely prioritize safety first. Roy Vernon is probably the BEST diving instructor you could get. I think it's pretty rare to get taught by someone with so much experience and who is such an elegant person. All of the other instructors I had were phenomenal too, but I spent the most time with Roy. (Plus the quarry where you go to do your open water dives, fantasy lake, is super beautiful!) 10/10 experience

Where to begin? First, we are super fortunate to have 2 excellent dive shops in Raleigh to support the Scuba community. I did not complete my certs with CDC but that didn't matter in the slightest as I was welcomed enthusiastically to be a part of the CDC family, too. We recently returned from a dive trip to St. Lucia with CDC. The trip was run SO so well! Excellent pre-trip support (help fitting me for rental gear, recc's on attire and packing for the temps/conditions there, etc), the resorts were phenomenal - from location/setting to food to the quality of scuba support and diving locations. St. Lucia was stunning - highly highly recommend going (and go with CDC)! Jim did such a fantastic job arranging a trip full of dives at a beautiful resort. As icing on the cake, my fiancé and I decided to elope while on the trip and ordained Capt. Jim became our wonderful minister and created a special and intimate underwater wedding for us! He went above and beyond to treat us to memories of a lifetime! While we went on the trip not knowing anyone else, our underwater wedding turned into a bubbling group (literally, regulators were wide open on our exit) of new friends celebrating us as a couple! It was truly special. We look forward to many more years of trips with CDC, be they charters, state-side, or international!

Open Water Certification. We had a wonderful experience swimming through our Open Water Certification. PADI e-learning, very comprehensive. The dive instructors Mike and Will were excellent. Delivered technical information in a manner we could understand and helped us through concepts and skills that were taking a minute. Highly recommend CDC.
