I really wanted to love Centered City Yoga in Salt Lake City. The classes were great, the instructors were warm and professional, and for a while, it felt like I’d found the perfect place to practice during my short stay in town. Unfortunately, everything changed after a billing issue—and how it was handled completely soured my experience. I made a technical mistake when trying to cancel my membership and was charged for another full month. I reached out within five hours of receiving the charge notification, hoping for a little understanding or flexibility. Instead, the owner, Eric Martin, refused to help in any way. No refund, no credit, no compromise. In his email, he told me, “I have people do it all the time,” referring to others successfully canceling on their own—as if that somehow made my situation invalid. The message was clear: this was my fault, and not his problem. To make things worse, when Eric manually canceled my account, he limited my access to just six days—April 4 through April 10—for the 15 classes I had just paid for. That felt punitive, petty, and deeply unprofessional. This was an unnecessarily disappointing end to what had otherwise been a really good experience. I won’t be returning to Centered City Yoga, and I’d caution others to be aware of how little support you may receive if anything goes wrong. For a studio that promotes mindfulness and community, the customer service I received from ownership was anything but. UPDATE - Conveniently, shortly after posting this review, my membership expiration was adjusted to May 2nd. Two days short of the full membership I paid for.

If you’re running late just kiss your money goodbye and turn around, they don’t let you in even one minute late. Updated review: The teacher was great! Sucks that you can't have a bad day were you run a minute late, but I would say it's the best in SLC... so I think it justifies 5 stars

I was visiting from out of town and interested in supporting a local studio (vs chain) but was disappointed with the studio and the class. I rented a yoga mat for $4 (my studio only charges $2) and it wasn't even a nice mat then had to pay to rent a mat towel too. The class was very slow and the flow movements didn't match up with breathe and we didn't do any Chaurangas, she queued push ups instead. It was a little weird. For a Sunday night "hot vinyasa flow" class. I hardly worked up a sweat. This class should have a different name. I don't think I'll come back to this studio on my next visit.
