I just finished the Ableton Intensive Course at Champion Sound in Portland, and it was time and money well spent! Ableton Live 11 is a deep DAW, with functionality below the surface that inspires you to think of creative possibilities beyond the typical effects chains and traditional studio techniques. Tony, Isaac, and Andrew are highly knowledgeable certified trainers with decades of experience on the stage and behind the console. As a teacher myself, I was very pleased with their delivery and ability to explain complex concepts clearly. If you want to level-up your music production game, get yourself over to Champion Sound!

Great course! I took the online intensive Ableton program last year and learned a lot. Tony and Isaac teach a well rounded course serving new Ableton uses as well as suited to the needs of more advanced students. Great hands on support and simple exercises plus the use of Splice's sample library which give everything you need to make top music. Highly recommended!

If you’re an Ableton novice, this is the course for you. This course runs twice a week with four hour sessions, and it’s organized in a way that lets you get a bit of experience with every imperative aspect of Ableton. But, it’s really the instructors that make the class what it is. Tony (Anthony) was born to be a teacher. His love for the class and subject matter shows in the way he teaches it, which is exactly what I look for when learning something new. He even explained to us how he initially was teaching classes with a larger number of students, but made it smaller for a more intimate setting that allows for a more personal experience. Isaac is a walking Ableton encyclopedia. I guarantee he knows more about the software than you know about your own grandparents. A great guide to all the dumb questions you will inevitably have. Andrew is a master of hands-on experience. He challenges you to try the ins and outs of the software and creates an environment where he can guide you through any obstacles. Now, if you’re already pretty comfortable with Ableton and are looking for a course to get you to the next step, this might not be exactly what you’re looking for. I’m sure there are things you could pick up, but what this class provides is a touch on a multitude of different subjects, rather than a deep dive into any one of them. However, it is mentioned in the classes that some of these instructors do provide 1 on 1’s! Overall, this course is great if you: Are new to Ableton and want to get your feet wet. Have trouble following YouTube tutorials. Want to experience the types of hardware that can help you with music production.

This in-person ableton class was the best part of my day every time. Tony teaches in a way that makes subjects that seem overwhelming easier to digest. He is very patient and would stop and answer any questions I had. I learned so much in only one month and feel more confident with ableton and push!
