We tried Chef J’s again because we saw that they had a grand reopening and had changed to a Dim Sum and Hot Pot restaurant. We were excited to try the menu because we’ve always wanted to try the dumplings and boa buns but never could decide on what to commit. This change allowed us to sample a lot of things we wouldn’t normally get and the staff was very attentive. It’s a little confusing, but essentially the menu shows a lunch price and a dinner price but you can do a the All You Can Eat, or you can order separately, as well as specialties or chefs entrees (which specialties and chefs entrees are not included in AYCE). But there were so many options to try, and that was a lot of fun to do as a family. If you want to do hot pot, just make sure to mention that up front as they will seat you in a different are to enjoy that. If you’ve been here before, we recommend you give it another go for this different dining experience for lunch or dinner.

This is one of the MOST expensive versions of Singapore noodle I have ever had. It's also the WORST version I've ever eaten. It's a decent size portion. (This is half eaten) per my request it was chicken only. However they said they would add more chicken to compensate for the difference, they LIED!!! There's almost no seasoning. They chicken has no flavor because it was OBVIOUSLY cooked separately. To give an example it tastes and looks like boiled chicken that was mixed into the dish just before it came out of the wok. There's almost no spice at all. This is a piss poor example of this dish. NEVER order it. Also I wasn't acknowledged or anything. I had to enter the restaurant from the vestibule before seeing anyone. When he did see me, he didn't say anything and ignored me until I asked if I should sit just anywhere. Then when I was done he had disappeared. I had to wait for him to come out and was about to ask if I should pay or just leave. But he saw me look at him and brought my check. Put some contacts. I've eaten here before and liked it. The food I had today was the least good dining experience I have had in about 10 years. And also the worst Chinese food I've had in about 10 years.

Parking lot was empty when we showed up, front of the restaurant smelled like sewage. The kimchi fried rice was good, the soy sauce noodles were sweet. Kung pao tofu was okay, scallion pancakes are good. Har gow needed more filling, steam rice noodles with BBQ pork were over cooked so it was just mush. Shu mai was okay, BBQ pork baos also could use some more filling. Service was great though we had to repeat ourselves a few times because our waitress had her airpod in. This was a one and done for us.

From the melt in your mouth beef to the crisp vegetables, everything was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We opted out of cooking on Xmas and decided to have Chinese and go to the movies. I was a little disappointed that they weren't doing dim sum but understood that there was a limited menu on the holiday. We had steamed dumplings, lo mein, fried rice, happy family, orange chicken, and generals chicken. The food came out quickly and it was delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back to try the dim sum menu!
