This place was awesome there was great artwork done by amazing people. Our youth from kuumba Lynx had a fashion show there and it was a great turnout the space was great. My only problem though was access to the bathroom there was a key and you have to like wait in line and it was freezing cold in the lobby since people kept coming in and out. So you are basically freezing waiting to go to the bathroom other than that, I think it was a great space it's a really great way to use a small space. Now I'm not sure if the Chicago Art Department has like multiple floors but we were only on the first floor so my review is based on the first floor.

What practical tips should groups consider when planning a meetup at Chicago Art Department?

To get the most from your group meetup at Chicago Art Department, it’s helpful to plan ahead regarding activity choice, group size, and timing. Since some workshops and popular experiences require advance booking due to limited space, securing your preferred date and program early is advisable. Consider the composition of your group—are some more artistically inclined, or do you want purely recreational fun? This will help you pick the right workshop or paint event. Dress comfortably, and note that protective gear is usually provided for messy activities, so casual clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on are best. Also, factor in time for socializing before or after the creative sessions to fully enjoy the communal aspect. Lastly, if your gathering involves special celebrations, notify the staff in advance to explore options for personalized touches or accommodations.

With its blend of creative activities, friendly atmosphere, and commitment to collaborative art, Chicago Art Department is an excellent venue for groups seeking an engaging and memorable meetup experience that nourishes both social connection and creative spirit.
