I can't rave enough about the food here. BEST burger I've had in a long time hands down! We ate here for lunch and did a to go order as well. The portion sizes are huge. To go, we ordered the salmon burger and a traditional Chicago hot dog. The salmon and hit dog were so darn good the next day, I know it would have been fire had we eaten it fresh. As a New Yorker, I have to give tge Chicago dog it's props, just delicious! The salmon burger is out of this world delicious! I loved the hotdogs as well, minus the hot peppers. One of our friends who's a picky vegan eater had the vegan burger and fries and said it was excellent. I'll be back to eat here again when I visit in the next few months. Worth every penny! And everyone behind the counter was pleasant as well. Good customer service.

I decided to try Chicago Burger Co despite the mixed reviews, and here's the breakdown: Location: It's a great spot if you're looking for a riverside experience. The only downside is that customers walk right by your table since there's no fencing. Indoor seating is a no-go, but most people probably come for the outdoor vibe anyway. Service + Timing: We went on the 4th of July weekend around 2:30 PM after our boat ride. It wasn't crowded, and we got our food within 12 minutes of ordering—not bad at all. Our server was lovely and made sure we were well taken care of, even though it's not a traditional dine-in service style. Food: We ordered two CBC burgers with fries and drinks. It was a bit pricey but okay. The fries came in a basket, crispy and yummy. As for the burgers, they were a bit greasy, but the meat was well-cooked—nothing raw, unlike some other reviews I'd read. Maybe we got lucky with less traffic and better service. Overall, we had a great experience. I'd say it's worth giving it a try!

This restaurant is located on the river walk in the base of the Sheraton. What fabulous food! Our party of six had only praise for every entree we tried. I had the gluten free bun with my burger, but it fell apart as I ate it. I finally gave up and used a fork and knife to eat my fabulous tasting burger. My friend had the sweet potato tots - so fresh tasting and a yummy alternative to regular fries. (But the regular fries are super good!) If you love a good burger and fries, you need to give this place a try!

We were enjoying the beautiful Chicago River Walk and came across this place so we decided to try it for lunch. Service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming staff. Shout out to our cashier, Ricardo who was very helpful with the menu. They have inside and outside seating with a nice view of the water. We tried 'The Chicago Burger with Giardiniera, Boursin, Lemon Aioli & Grilled Onions' and also their 'CBC Smash with House Aioli' burger. They both tasted amazing! We also got a side of 'Sweet Potato Tots' to go with it, the basket is plenty for 2 to share. Overall, we had a great lunch experience here and will definitely return while in town.

The food isn't bad. It just irritates me when I ask for specific condiments on my sandwich, I expect it to come out correctly. I ordered the herb grilled chicken sandwich with only mayo and tomato only! It came out with shredded lettuce. The one thing I hate most is lettuce on anything! The view was absolutely beautiful! Sat outside along the river. Just had to deal with the birds. One pigeon even went after my son's chicken tenders.

Why choose Chicago Burger Company over other Chicago burger spots?
Choosing Chicago Burger Company for your group meetup means opting for a unique blend of location, accessibility, and comfort that not all burger places in Chicago can match. While it may not be the most upscale or gourmet burger destination in the city, it excels at offering reliably good food in a picture-perfect setting that you don’t always get with typical fast-food chains. The ability to sit outside by the river sets it apart, offering a refreshing alternative to indoor-only venues. Additionally, its straightforward menu and friendly service minimize complications when ordering for a crowd. The pricing is reasonable relative to its downtown location and the meal experience, making it a practical choice for budget-conscious groups. Many visitors highlight the convenience of its location, especially if your group is visiting or staying nearby, such as in the Sheraton Grand which houses the restaurant. While some reviewers note the burgers can be greasy or heavy, many appreciate the satisfying portion sizes and flavors that remind them of classic American burger joints. Overall, Chicago Burger Company offers a balance of good food, location, and an inviting atmosphere that makes it a solid candidate for your next meetup spot.
How do customer reviews reflect the experience at Chicago Burger Company?
Customer reviews show a mixed but mostly positive perspective on Chicago Burger Company. Many comment on the juicy, flavorful burgers and well-prepared fries, with highlights including the quality of the food despite its quick-serve format. Patrons enjoy the outdoor seating and river views, frequently noting these as key reasons they return. Service is often described as friendly and efficient, which is a plus for group gatherings. On the downside, some reviews mention the food can be a bit greasy, and a few find the pricing on the higher side compared to similar places. However, these concerns do not seem to outweigh the overall appeal for most customers who enjoy the convenience and ambiance. The restaurant has a 3.8-star rating based on nearly 300 reviews, indicating a generally satisfactory experience for most diners, though it might not satisfy every palate or preference. This mix suggests it’s a reliable, casual spot that works best for groups seeking a laid-back meet-up rather than a gourmet burger adventure.

The walk-up, quick-serve nature also allows for spontaneous gatherings without the need for reservations, which is a big plus when coordinating around varying schedules. How does Chicago Burger Company cater to group sizes and dynamics?
Chicago Burger Company is well prepared to handle small to medium-sized groups, making it a good option whether you’re meeting a handful of friends or a modest family gathering. Its seating layout includes tables that can accommodate larger groups by combining spaces, and the casual ordering model speeds up service, which can be beneficial when you want to keep the meet-and-eat momentum going without long waits. Because it is a quick-serve, counter-order establishment, it naturally encourages interaction as groups place and pick up orders together, setting a communal tone for the meal. The diverse menu also helps in catering to different group dynamics, from meat-enthusiasts to vegetarians and those who prefer lighter options, minimizing conflicts over what to eat. The venue’s atmosphere and layout promote casual mingling and moving around, useful for meetups where groups might want to chat in smaller clusters or circulate without feeling confined.
What should you know before planning your meetup at Chicago Burger Company?
Before planning your meetup at Chicago Burger Company, it’s important to consider that while the venue offers a lot of positives like location and menu diversity, it is fundamentally a quick-serve burger joint rather than a full-service restaurant. Expect to order at the counter and possibly wait in line during busy times. The food tends to be generous and flavorful but can be somewhat greasy, so it’s ideal if your group enjoys classic American burger fare with a casual approach rather than gourmet health-conscious dining. Pricing is moderate but can lean toward the higher end for burger places in Chicago’s downtown, so budget accordingly. The ambiance is relaxed but more functional than fancy, making it better suited for casual socializing rather than formal events. Lastly, outdoor seating might fill up quickly on nice days, so arriving early can help secure a good spot by the river. Taking these points into account will help set clear expectations and ensure your meetup goes smoothly.
Anyone planning a casual yet enjoyable rendezvous with friends or family in Chicago would find Chicago Burger Company a worthwhile place to consider. Its combination of location, food variety, and social atmosphere provides compelling reasons to rally here.
