Edit: I never insinuated that he was trying to charge me up, I’m a very calm person and I was trying to understand because I’m not familiar with the policy which he obviously had no patience for. I said I had cross fit experience just not at their gym and he didn’t take the time to understand me. He never offered this free session, the only thing he offered is to let me sign up (and pay ofc which is obvious) but without the $99 one on one and if the instructor sees that I’m struggling then I will pay for the one on one session. I always respect the rules of any place and it’s not nice to misinterpret things. —— I was genuinely excited to try out this gym and was planning to join with their $100 unlimited 1-month trial. When I first called, I clearly mentioned I have gym experience, and the person I spoke with said I was good to register and start. The following week, I called again to check which instructor I should join for my first class. This time, I was told I had to do a $100 one-on-one intro session first. I politely explained that I already have experience and would rather put that money toward the membership while trying out the gym. Instead of calmly discussing it, the man on the phone snapped and said, “If you can’t afford a one-on-one session, I don’t know how you can afford a membership at our gym.” It was extremely rude, condescending, and completely unnecessary. I reminded him of our previous conversation, and he insisted there was "no way" he told me I could just join. Thankfully, I had text messages to back me up. Only then he apologized saying it was a "misunderstanding" and that I can come in without the one on one and see how it goes. It's been a while now and I still haven’t registered, not because I didn’t want to, but because I don’t feel comfortable stepping into a gym where I was treated that way before even setting foot inside. Very disappointing experience. I had high hopes, but was left with frustration instead.

Been hittin' up Chicago Strength River North for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer. Dropped $99 on the trial month, then went all in with the $230/month unlimited membership. The CrossFit WODs are killer, and the coaches know their stuff. The 24/7 fob access is clutch for my unpredictable schedule. Plus, the locker rooms are clean, and the infrared saunas are a nice touch. If you're serious about fitness and want a solid community, this is the spot.

Chicago Strength offers the best fitness classes in the city, great coaches, and a great community! I've tried numerous other gyms and have never found a class that challenges me like their classes do. I have met lifelong friends there and highly recommend it for an amazing workout, clean facility, and great gym culture!
