Very clean and well lit bakery - cash only. Egg tarts are good (our favorite bakery is in San Fransisco China town has the best ones) however, they are freshly made. We greatly enjoyed the large bag of fortune cookies - $8! There was a tall table next to the front window, no stools, if you want to have a quick bite before leaving.

It smells like bathroom/sewage in there I don’t know why. When you go in the first door your nose gets assaulted. I had to stand a couple minutes in between doors to see if I should eat from a place that has a dirty smell… That said,my curiosity about the xiopao won and so I bought a pack of 6 from the fridge. The dough is a tad stiff but the inside tastes good. The worst part? I’ll show you in photo… never again.

Very good Chinese bakery, family owned for many generations. Especially like their baked char sui buns. As with most bakeries in the Chicago Chinatown area they only accept cash as payment for their goods. Also good to be able to speak some Chinese but not a necessity.
