This is my second time here, but it’s still the best Korean restaurant in Chicago hands down. The Ajumma lady suggested I try yukgaejang, which was phenomenal except for the beef (too hard for me).

Authentic…I suppose. I have a very wide palate and truly love exploring different foods and have for years. The food here was average at best. The decor makes any hole-in-the-wall dive bar look glamorous. Tight squeeze and you’re guaranteed to have someone’s back rub against yours during the course of dining here. I’m not sure what to call the service. We were definitely out of place as 95% of the patrons seemed to be Korean…but you would think that meant something positive…not really. I love offbeat restaurants and have no problem if it’s not attractive, but the service best be above average and the food best be outstanding! Final recommendation…skip this place unless you really want to find out for yourself.

BEST Korean spot in the city to me and all my Korean friends here- closest kbbq flavors and dipping sauces to Seoul. Too many reviews complain about service. It was packed when I was there, but the servers go around and cut the meat, fry the rice, etc. If you're used to small talk and smiles with your servers you might not like it, but this is very typical for a busy Asian restaurant imo. They don't rush you out, they're just rushing around themselves. If you want authentic, this is it.

The bibimbap was ok. We tried kimchi cold wheat noodles for the first time, and don't have a benchmark to compare. What disappointed us was how unwelcome we felt throughout our stay there. The service was as cold as the noodles. I walked up to the cashier to pay and was returned the receipt showing CVV was incorrect even though I wasn't asked to key in the pin. It's ok, I gave her another card that required a signature. She said excuse me and stabbed on the tip section. Almost regretted giving them a tip lol. The ventilation was bad as well.
