From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the service, it honestly felt like we were being treated like royalty. Our server, Dylan, was absolutely fantastic, he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome the entire time. Kenny was our drink server and also went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food? Unreal. Every dish was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. And the drinks — hands down some of the best I’ve ever had, not just in San Diego, but anywhere. Everything was so well-balanced and creative, we were seriously impressed. This place nailed it in every way: service, food, drinks, ambiance. We’ll 100% be back the next time we’re in San Diego. Can’t recommend it enough!

I finally had the chance to visit this much-talked-about Korean restaurant in downtown San Diego, and it completely lived up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the overall vibe was perfect for a night out. Every dish we tried was spot-on. The banchan and small bites were a standout—especially the saewoojang crudo, spicy tuna crispy rice, octopus, and eggplant. Each one had such a clean, well-balanced flavor and beautiful presentation. The Korean fried chicken also deserves a special mention—I’ve had plenty before, but this one was on another level. The meat was unbelievably tender, and the seasoning was just right—not too salty, not too sweet, just perfect. All the raw dishes were super fresh, and I appreciated that the flavors weren’t overpowering. They let the quality of the ingredients shine. I already know I’ll be back. There are other dishes I’d love to try, but honestly, the ones we had will be hard not to order again—they were that memorable. It’s an ideal spot for a date night or a nice dinner out with family. And the fact that there’s a secure structure with 2-hour free parking? Huge plus in downtown. Highly recommend.

This is a real gem of a restaurant, surprising only because it’s in a very touristy part of San Diego. Located 2 blocks from the convention center and next to the baseball stadium. Immediately felt welcomed with a palate cleansing drink (def had honey notes?) . My table had a beautiful card with my name and a welcome, and a flower. I would have taken the card but I forgot (probably bc I drank lol)… They have some happy hour things Ordered light bites- cocktails are top shelf, inventive and really refreshing. Prices were very reasonable, way cheaper than NYC bars. Shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and can’t be missed. The octopus was tender and seared well. Service was attentive, and we even got to meet the chef, Mr Choi himself, which was an honor. He’s doing really nice things at such a young age! Sound level in restaurant was actually pleasant- tables spaced far apart so you actually can converse with your group without shouting. Will have to come back next time we are in San Diego! Highly recommend for any event, they have amazing service and food.

Choi’s is an excellent choice for modern Asian fusion. We came here for dinner before a concert at Gallagher Square and were really impressed. I’d been wanting to try this spot for a while after seeing it on Instagram, and it lived up to the hype. We received a warm welcome — including a handwritten note from the chef on our table and a complimentary non-alcoholic pre-dinner drink, which was a nice surprise. The chef himself also came out to greet us, which added a really personal touch. Food-wise, everything was flavorful and thoughtfully presented. Highlights were the bulgogi bao tacos and the Galbi hot stone bowl, which was my personal favorite — balanced, rich, and packed with flavor. The Choi’s crispy chicken had great texture but was a bit spicy for me personally, so keep that in mind when pairing dishes. Drinks are soju-based (no full bar), and everything we tried had great flavor, even if the alcohol content was lighter than a typical cocktail. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the meal. The only small downside was that the restroom had a handful of mosquitoes — odd, and it seemed like they were aware and addressing it. Overall, a beautiful experience — I’d absolutely return (and I’m still thinking about that hot stone bowl!).
