I’ve golfed here numerous times throughout the years and Claremont offers great prices year round. The course is always in great playing condition thanks to the maintenance staff and residents. Staff are always friendly. Playing here on a sunny day is one of my favorite things to do, it offers challenges like a long Par 5 on hole 2 and then one of my favorite holes being the Dogleg on hole 5. I 100% recommend this golf course to new or experienced golfers as it is one of my favorite courses in the area.

The course is generally okay — I like the layout and the fact that it's easy to walk. It’s a good length and can be a fun round. However, the value doesn’t always match the cost. We paid around $60 for two people to walk on a rainy day, and the course conditions didn’t reflect that price. The greens weren’t in great shape, and the rough was so overgrown it was nearly unplayable — our group lost multiple balls because of it. Under those conditions, a discounted rate would’ve made a lot more sense. Staff-wise, the pro shop folks are usually friendly, but we’ve had some frustrating experiences with the starters recently. For example, today (April 6), my partner and I arrived over 30 minutes early and were warming up when the starter reprimanded us for another couple in our group not being there 15 minutes early. We were on time, and the other couple arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled tee time. Despite that, we still teed off early. Rather than addressing the actual "late arrivals" (who on paper were 5 minutes before the scheduled tee time), the starter directed all of her frustration at us — which made the interaction feel needlessly hostile, especially since we had no control over when the other players arrived. She even asked if I had called them, which didn’t feel like my responsibility — especially considering I didn’t book the tee time or have their contact info. She followed that with a lecture about the importance of arriving early, which felt ironic and unnecessary given that we were early. It came off more like a power trip than helpful course management, particularly since we caught up to the group ahead of us quickly and there was no one behind us in sight. It wasn’t a huge incident, but it left a bad taste and honestly affected the round. I was distracted the whole time because the interaction felt unfair and avoidable. We’ve had similar encounters here before, which is disappointing. For example, last year someone in the pro shop insisted I had a particular tee time, even after I told them mine was different. They didn’t seem to be listening, and when I saw the couple they were trying to say I was, it turned out they were the same race as me. My partner made the reservation and is a different race, and his last name sounds NOTHING like the name of the group they mixed us up with. I’m not sure if it was stereotyping, but it felt really uncomfortable — especially given how insistent they were about saying that was my tee time and name instead of just confirming my provided name and tee time. I still enjoy parts of the course, but between inconsistent customer service and the mismatch between price and course conditions, it’s hard to fully recommend without a few caveats.

Great 9 hole, two par 5's and two par 3's. The perfect set up for a quick round. The course is immaculate and the staff are friendly. The starter gal working on Easter was very nice, and gave me some pointers to keep me out of trouble on hole 8. I ended up sinking one anyway but appreciated the tip!

Claremont Golf Club located NW Portland area. A bit expensive for 9 holes @ 28 bucks, but nonetheless they keep it in great shape. Greens always seem to roll pretty true, speed is usually medium. Claremont offers a nice chipping and putting green to warm up on with 2 hitting bays. The course can play a little slow. Claremont is for all levels of skill, must check out if your an avid golfer or just looking for a fun round of 9 hole golf.

AVOID THIS COURSE AT ALL COST. Terrible terrible management by the course. We pre-paid for a foursome through GolfNow and they sold it to another group because we weren’t checked in 15 minutes before. Wouldn’t get us a new tee time or allow us to fit in other groups and wouldn’t even let two of us go out with a twosome right after us. The group right after us also wasn’t there until 1 minute before their tee time. They didn’t kick their tee time or let us take it. I’ll never golf here again
