This place has a great atmosphere and the view makes it a wonderful spot for a meal. The service was excellent even though they were super busy. Deviled eggs are well done and hit the spot and the cheese bites were decent. The brisket baked potato was decent sized. Unfortunately the brisket on top was dry and borderline unpalatable, the toppings such as sour cream and butter was very minimal. I was quite disappointed by it and I'm not sure if it was a one off. The sausage and brisket sandwich were alright and well portioned. The potato salad was decent too. Our friend had ordered ribs but they seemed overly fatty and she's much too nice to to say anything but I could tell she was disappointed and it wasn't what she was expecting from her previous experience. The peach cobbler I was told was excellent. This is a well established joint and honestly, I would come back for apps and cobbler but if I'm looking for brisket or ribs this isn't the spot for me personally.

I’m shocked how high of a rating this place has it was the main reason I decided to give it a try. As we where ordering we where told by our waitress Alyssa that we where not able to order the 5 meat platter as it was lunch time and that platter was apart of the regular menu. I’ve never heard of an establishment not allow you to order from the regular menu regardless of it being lunchtime I would understand the other way around but that didn’t make much sense to me as it uses all the same meats as the lunch menu does just all in one platter. When we got our food it left much to be desired. Not only did it look disappointing but the brisket was dry and the sausage was giving lunch meat. The potato salad was not good, the French fries were cold but the fried okra was pretty good. You can tell they don’t put much effort into their barbecue. The service was also terrible she took our order and that was pretty much it. We even asked for a drink menu at one point and she did bring it to us but then never came back. We also waited quite a bit of time after we were done eating to get our check. The view was really nice atleast.

i'll tell you what you can get all the recommendations you want about Texas BBQ and go standing in long lines. This place has some dang good BBQ. Get the beef ribs get the pork ribs try the brosket. The chicken wings are insanely good. Go there during happy hour and see what I'm talking about. You can get some nice wings and sliders on the cheap. And the drinks are insanely good. if you've never had a stuffed baked potato you're in for a treat. You can get them with brisket turkey beef or pork .The one on the hill actually has a really good steak. The one with lake does not have the steak. But it just depends on what you feel like being up on the hill looking out we're sitting on the water while you eat. They're both really good spots. ..staff is awesome

Lots of food for a nice price. The food is tender and if you order the platter you get coleslaw, beans, potatoe salad along with your 2 or 3 meat plate. Bread is served as well. Each time I have eaten here, I leave very full and satisfied. I love the ambiance. It is located on the river and even if you sit higher in the restaurant, it still feels like home. The service can get hit or miss, depending on how busy they are. This last time I went there were several graduation parties going on. It seemed like some of the servers were locked in on bigger tips and wouldn't wait on you because of not their table. Other places help each other, just an observation. When our server came she was super sweet and took great care of us. Overall, just did enjoy my time and my dinner!

I remember my father once brought us here when I was about 12, and the view was already something special. On our way to a family wedding, I wanted to share that memory with my own children. While the landscape has evolved with new homes and businesses, the beauty remained just as I recalled. We requested an indoor table with a view, and we were seated exactly as we asked. The service was quick and efficient, just as expected. For our meal, my son and I ordered the ribs, and my daughter opted for the children's smoked chicken. We began with an appetizer of wings, and the food was consistently good. The ribs were flavorful and generously portioned, the mac and cheese was perfectly executed, the fried okra was the best I've ever tasted, and the wings were cooked to perfection with a delicious flavor. We all enjoyed our lunch immensely. Though I rarely have reason to travel to Austin, I'd eagerly bring my wife here to experience it for herself.
