Only open a bit, no BS archery only range, crazy 1 lane wooded drive, and worth it as an 🏹range as 28+ sequential targets and heavily green space. Will have to come back.

Not open many hours, but a great location for outdoor archery. Lots of variety in the course with elevation changes and different distances.

I wanted to do some archery at DeLaveaga Park Archery Range. None of the online descriptions or reviews prepared me for the treacherous drive getting there! I was driving a 32 foot Class C RV for 4 or 5 miles on this one way, narrow extremely twisty fire road with a rock wall on one side and a sheer cliff on the other, and poison oak everywhere! It was completely insane! I thought I was going to tip over as the back end of our RV was sliding in the mud on the sides of this pathetic excuse of a road called "Brookwood Drive"! It was a harrowing experience! Plus, archery was over before we got there, and we found out from people there that they normally lock both gates way before that time, so we had to hurry out of there, or we might get locked in with no way to turn around. So, after all that, no archery. I thought it was open much later than 4pm. People should be warned about that drive to never go there in an RV!

I was able to arrange a private family lesson through Santa Cruz Archery Lesson here for my Daughter's birthday. Bonnie & Ed are AMAZING teachers, and we had a fantastic time.

Access by foot or bike is possible anytime from sunrise to sunset, but driving into the range is restricted to weekends from noon to 4 pm, which helps maintain a tranquil and orderly environment. Importantly, for safety reasons, visitors must enter through the parking lot and avoid cutting across the adjacent golf course, which poses risks from errant golf balls and arrows. This thoughtful layout protects visitors while preserving the quality of the archery experience. Signage and volunteer guides often help newcomers navigate the complex, ensuring your group can focus on fun without confusion or safety concerns.

What additional facilities and amenities support a comfortable visit? The archery range lacks equipment rentals, so groups should bring their own bows and arrows, or arrange rentals through local vendors or lesson providers if needed. The venue encourages a donation system that sustains upkeep, helping maintain pristine shooting lines, target butts, and safety barriers. While the indoor range is less accessible regularly, it offers a sheltered option during organized events, making it a valuable backup for inclement weather or specific lesson dates. Nearby park facilities such as restrooms, picnic areas, and walking paths complement the archery experience, allowing groups to extend their visit into a full day of leisure.
