Go out and get one! 1-18-2020 Purchased my custom Mako Fish and couldnt be more stoked. Only took a couple of weeks. PJ, owner and shaper has a lifetime of surfing and shaper experience. Super good guy! He was very patient throughout the process and shaped a killer board to fit my needs. Its fast, great paddle power, and maneuvers very smooth. I have been riding Delray designs for the last 12 years. I started with one of the smaller fish boards and I was so turned on by the speed and control, I decided to switch out my longboards too. I have never been happier with any board. All of PJ's shapes have been good to me. I recommend these boards for any ability level. Diffidently fine tuned for the conditions in San Diego but I have also had great experience with these shapes in the South Pacific. Everything from long nose rides, to big open faces, to hollow barrels!

Very fast turn-around! PJ shaped me a beautiful 6'8" viper (see photo) in just a week. He's a really cool, friendly guy and a brilliant shaper. I met with him at his shop on a Friday morning and we talked for a bit and he quickly figured out what I needed for a board. He hustled to get the supplies on a Friday afternoon, so that he could shape it over the weekend and have it ready for me ASAP. I'll definitely be getting another board from him soon!

I found PJ and Delray Surf Designs website through Craigslist, got the contact info there, and made the call. We chatted a minute and I immediately felt comfortable talking with him. He is friendly and put me at ease right away. At the shop we talked awhile about stuff, and it felt easy talking to PJ about how I surf, where I surf, and what current equipment I use or used to, without feeling like I have to impress or exaggerate how well I surf, which I found to be the case sometimes talking to some people at the local surf shop. Maybe just me. But it was a smooth natural conversation, he listened, and provided the perfect amount of feedback/suggestions complimenting what I was looking for. The end result was this pretty baby, a Christmas present to myself. The board: A 6'2" x 20" x 3" custom of his Mako series with custom green acid color with white rails. I love the V-shape catamaran bottom. Goes rail to rail better than my 6'0" ...Lost Minnie Driver (which has been my go to board for almost all conditions). I had a few waves at the cliffs on Friday, even though it was pretty good dose of afternoon westerly chop on the surface, the size and shape was still pretty good (shoulder to occ head high), and the board handled like a dream! I remember on one wave, the pronounced speed, but still under control, was noticeable and amazing. I liked how it handled in the pocket with a smooth old school glide feel which can't help but put you in a stylin' mode right away. Gliding up and down the face, and even an off the top floater on one wave that got me juiced before I ended my session for the evening. Needless to say, I am STOKED about this board and look forward to riding it more and more. Hate to say it, but it might replace my ...Lost unless (it gets too big...but even then it could probably handle all that I can handle). I'm not a pro, but more mid to upper intermediate range and have done some traveling for surf in Mex, Nica, S.America so have experienced different waves, and I'm looking forward to traveling with this baby. If you're in the market for a new custom well made board that are beautiful and affordable, then you need to call Petier (PJ) and schedule a meeting with him. Guaranteed it'll be a great experience and you will be super impressed and stoked with your new stick. Turnaround time usually 2-4 weeks, add another week w/ color. Aloha!
