Awesome place to walk around and learn a butt load about plants, cactuses and butterflies. There is a lot of walking if you want to cover the whole area so wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Took me and my friend roughly 3 hours to experience it all. Ticket's roughly $25 bucks and they also have a pretty cool butterfly exhibition where you can come and see all types of beautiful butterflies. Overall scenery is very beautiful. Lots of room to park your car as well.

After deciding to make an impromptu trip out of visiting for spring training, I searched through the web to find something interesting to do while in Phoenix. Of course, the Desert Botanical Garden popped up on the search and a spark of interest of instantly ignited. The price for a ticket is normally $24.95, but after reading a very helpful review stating AAA discounts are applied when you show your card, I received 20% off each ticket. I never imagined a desert being as beautiful as this botanical garden showed me it is. There are several paths you can take inside the garden, none too strenuous. Be sure to bring a hat or sunscreen and a water bottle. One of my favorite encounters was the butterfly enclosure. They give you a quick speech before entering, mostly asking you to watch where you step as to not harm any butterflies. Inside you will find multiple species of butterflies, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with them (perfect photo opp!)

We visited quite few places in Phoenix but you can't end the trip without seeing their amazing botanical garden. It's just mind blowing from start to finish with amazing cactus and natural greenery, my favorite was the butterfly garden and the gift shop.

Amazing collection of desert plants in a lovely setting. Currently there is the Chihuly in the Desert Exhibition until June 2022. One of the top glass artists of world showcases his installations outdoors among the desert plants. Go late afternoon to visit in daylight then stay to view it at sunset and when the installations illuminate. Stunning.

I have always loved DBG. Came here as a kid for school and never stopped showing up at their doorstep. There is so much to see and it changes with the seasons. It is important to take your time and just walk without talking if you can because you'll see so much more! Look at the top of the cacti, in the trees, in the air, and on the ground. The wildlife is everywhere. Talk to all the great employees and volunteers who have seen some amazing things here and they can answer you questions. To see the entire grounds plan on at least 3 hours. Wear good walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen and don't forget your camera.
