Dittmar pool is a nice pool. Has a nice shaded area by the entryway of the pool. The temperature is always just right. It's free entry and there are about 4 picnic tables around the pool area. Seems you have to arrive early to secure a spot. Lots of kids usually, so if kids aren't your thing you might want to avoid. Our family enjoys the South Austin pool.

This park is really cool - it’s very open and I had a pleasant time there. Great place for social distancing if u want. There is a Gaga ball court and boy did I wish I had a ball so I could jump in and play! Anyways the grills are closed for corona so if you DO decide to pack a picnic, might I suggest a cheese plate or something

Do not tell anyone about Armadillo Park 'unless they are --- cool --- ' ..., the definition of a neighborhood park! You will see cops here only on coffee breaks. Often as not maybe no-one, quiet, tree-museum, sweet mini-bandit trails..., most not passable this summer given 'burr armageddon' but come October-ish I'll again be walking the loopdiloops, the lolligags and for sure the zig zags. Consolation prize = this spring City of Austin Parks erected rather nicely designed for sure feng shui log, stump and rock balance course..., walk round in circles!!! or miss not a rock or log and not touch the lava (ground). It's in full shade directly adjacent to Armadillo Street. The course is no higher than 30 inches aka not far to fall onto nicely chipped wood chips..., for all the kid(s) --- in all of us, they call it the ??? Check it out, won't regret, works also as picnic table or chess venue, probably good for skilled Tai Chi?
