I’ve been a member at Doclay for about a year. The new management has really turned things around and made the space organized clean, and a wonderful place to create. I really appreciate the style of the studio. The glazes and processing time of pieces is so much better than other studios in the city. I highly recommend becoming a member or taking a class here!

I’ve been doing ceramics for about 4–5 years and have worked out of a variety of studios, small and large, private and semi-private. Out of all of them, this is the one I love being a member of the most! It’s incredibly well-organized, which makes creating here a true joy. The glaze offerings are expansive, and I find myself excited to try something new each time I come in. There’s also a genuine sense of community here that makes this feel like a creative home to me. I really appreciate the recent changes and improvements, it’s clear the team puts care and intention into every detail. So grateful to be part of this studio! Highly Recommend!!

I was a part of a private class with Lily about a month ago for a work event and had a really great time. We did wheel throwing and Lily was very knowledgeable and had obviously been doing this for a while. I have no experience in working with clay and she showed us the process step-by-step as well as provided individual help whenever needed. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty I would definitely recommend it. It was a fun and memorable experience for the whole group and now I have a cup I can say I made!

I cannot recommend this spot enough! My experience with the beginner wheel throwing class was awesome - I’m someone who can be overwhelmed learning a new skill, the guidance provided by the instructor made me feel comfortable and stoked to learn more and have fun doing it. All of my questions were received with open arms, which shows to me the internal culture at the studio is one of curiosity, authentic excitement, and good vibes.

I showed up to the studio with zero experience—had literally never touched a wheel before—and left feeling like I actually made something. My instructor was incredibly patient and clear, walking me through the basics without ever making it feel intimidating. The vibe of the place is low-key, fun, and chill. Everyone was welcoming, and even though I was clearly a beginner. I got a ton of guidance while still being able to mess around and experiment. Honestly just a super fun and educational experience. Highly recommend if you’re curious but have no idea what you’re doing—this is the place.
