More like Regret Park. If you’ve found yourself here, you are a a) river junkie looking for some shade or shelter from weather or place to fix up b) family unwisely spending the day next to essentially a sewer flowing down a concrete tunnel c) mouthbreathing cyclist/runner determining whether to keep traveling south into abandoned warehouse territory, or head back north up the bike path back to more gentrified areas d) MS13 gang member spraying FTR13 all over everything – signs, trees, rocks, the ground. e) city employee collecting trash but otherwise leaving this barren strip of trees and rock walls to age under the California sun If you’re not one of these, you have no reason to be here, and should leave immediately.

It's a stretch to call this location a park. There is no grass, no water fountain, and no restroom. It's essentially a waypoint on the LA River bike trail. There are benches, shade, and a decent view of the "river" (I'm sorry it used to be a river, but concrete makes it a drainage canal!) but that's about it!

Not safe, especially if you have a bicycle. This is the end of the LA River Bike trail where cyclists used to rest. The scum trolls that live in the underpass just 500 feet south are normally monitoring. Take the rest one park north. The drinking fountain does not even work because they kept messing with the plumbing. The restroom is the Underpass by the pile of trash and bike parts. This is not a park. It's a trap!

I had no idea this has a name or that it's even considered a park. I don't love it simply for the fact that hardly anyone is here. I have made stops here to rest after a ride from Griffith Park. I know for sure it probably isn't a good idea to be here too long on weekdays when bicycle ridership is very low. It's close to an alleyway that leads further South past under the Riverside Dr Bridge Lookout, which is no longer a bike path. I've seen drug addicts walk in and out of there. For sure, there are drug addict encampments under the Riverside Dr Bridge Lookout. Keep your head on a swivel if you ever stop here for any reason. The local street gang is also active. 🚲

Like many other parks along the LA river trail, Egret Park is hardly a park. It's just a small shaded space where you can sit and have some rest. Being at the beginning of the trail, this can be a good place to meet up with your fellow riders and runners to start your journey.
