Overall good tacos. This truck has been a staple for over a decade. They're most well known for their Al pastor which is very good and very seasoned. I had 4 tacos. Al pastor, asada, buche & tripas. The al pastor was the best, the asada was good and seasoned well but it didn't have a nice char or grill flavor to it. The tripas was cool well with some crunchiness and flavor. The buche was also decent. The Al paator burrito my friend got was good but burrito was not well put together and the integrity of the burrito fell apart quickly. The parking is very hard to find if you can't find it at the lot they're posted up in. The staff is nice and the line can be long depending on the busy times.

Possibly the best tacos in LA ! Twenty customers were in line and only two were non-Latinos(I was one). The steak mulita was my favorite. Nothing better than standing in their parking lot, eating tacos. A true iconic Hispanic moment in my visit to Los Angeles.

El chato taco has quickly become my favorite place for tacos in West LA. Their al pastor is juicy and flavorful, and I always go for the salsa verde. The portions are generous, and the tacos are reasonably priced. The place has a chill vibe, and I’ve always had good service. It’s a great spot for a quick and tasty bite

This might just be the best taco spot I’ve found in all of Los Angeles! When I showed up, there were about twenty people in line, and it was clear this place is the real deal—authentic, beloved, and worth the wait. I ordered a few different things, but the steak mulita? Absolute favorite. Perfectly seasoned meat, warm melty cheese, and that grilled tortilla… it hit every note. Just bold, comforting flavors with no fuss—exactly what you want in street food. There’s something kind of magical about standing in the parking lot, plate in hand, surrounded by the sounds and smells of fresh tacos being made. It wasn’t fancy. But it was real—and honestly. If you want to eat like a local and taste tacos that actually live up to the hype, this is the place. I’ll be thinking about that mulita for a long time.
