We were craving pupusas, and we wanted to give this place a shot. The place itself did not look that pretty, but from my point of view, it looked clean to me. At first we were the only ones, so I was getting worried, but when we placed our order, I saw the lady started prepping them on the spot, so I was impressed, and they tasted so fresh. The plain banana tasted good, and so did the corn tamale.

El Viroleño has a lovely staff of bilingual (English/Spanish) women who were kind and polite. The restaurant was beautiful with rich colors and a cozy, peaceful vibe. The menu is bilingual and varied with delicious dessert options. The service was fast, the food was very good with large portions with affordable prices. Our party ordered frijoles con queso pupusas which were beautifully plated atop a bed of shredded cabbage with a delicious sauce. There is limited street parking but ample parking across the street. I highly recommend as you will just love the flavorful food here!

As vegans, it can be tricky to go into a restaurant without any vegan options on the menu. But the young man at the front counter was very nice, and after I explained our dietary restrictions in Spanish, he helped us order some delicious food. The Salvadoran slaw and salsa that he brought were a perfect addition to the meal. The food in the photo doesn’t look great, because we had already dug in it, but it was delicious! And everyone was so nice. I highly recommend.
