I've been cheering for a rebirth of the comedy scene in Seattle, ever since the classics like the Parlor in Bellevue and the Underground in Seattle closed. We have a few other options which I patronize but they're all dated and rarely pulling in name talent. The newly refreshed and updated Emerald City seems determined to take the crown. The space and sound system are now quite nice and the food is surprisingly good. There are your expected items like burgers but also many healthy options like hummus and fresh salads. Service was good as well!

Went for the first time to see Tim Meadows. I love the location of this club & appreciate them having great comedians. The location is right by the 1 line station. I read the reviews & was a bit concerned, but I think it is a great place! All of the employees were very friendly & the host asked if we had been there. When we said no, he told us all of the details. We arrived closer to the start time, so we sat in the back. The only issue there was if you are behind tall people (as we were) at the lower table, it was a bit hard to see. I had a clear view, but my partner had to move a bit to get a good view. The club feels really new & nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience & we will definitely return!

Final Edit: Just read the owner's update to their reply and now changing to 4-stars because they did the right thing and listened to reason/feedback and removed the hidden 12% fee. Thank you! I'd consider going back next time I see a comic I like on the roster. Changing my review to 2 stars (from 3) due to owner's silly reply: I don't have an issue with a 2-item minimum, but adding a non-optional 12% fee on to each check IS STILL INFLATING YOUR PRICES! Just being sneaky and dishonest about it. Everyone knows Seattle is expensive, you can just be honest about how much things cost and price your items accordingly! If you were just charging 12% more for your menu items you would have gotten a 5-star review from me and a repeat customer. Original review: Show itself was great. There was a 2 order per person minimum, then there was an extra 12% “administrative fee” on top of this (conveniently not mentioned on the menu), and they still expected us to leave a tip. Seriously? Just charge us what the stuff costs! You just opened, you can’t act like you didn’t know labor was expensive in Seattle before you opened. This sort of sneaky price-gouging is really disappointing.

Good venue, their food and drinks are pretty much the same price as a restaurant so that's cool. Seeing Jason mews was amazing! Their ticket purchase site is easy to use, also signing up for their loyalty club gets you free tickets sometimes. Staff is also super chill! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was parking at the end of their block if you take a right is a garage that says it locks at 8 and your unable to retrieve your car till the next day, so for a 7 o'clock show that's a no go, if you go left at that same light it leads you to a sketchy diamond parking lot that has homeless all around and feels like your going to get broken Into. As a former employee, diamond won't help you if it does, hell most their lots don't have cameras and if they do they are broken.... But this isn't a review about how bad diamond is,just saying parking sucks otherwise, it's a 5 star all the way.

I feel compelled to leave a 5 star review in response to people complaining about the menu prices and the fact that there is a two item minimum - tell me you don't go to comedy clubs without telling me you don't go to comedy clubs! The food and beverage requirement is how you get to see a comedy show without paying $100 for a ticket-instead of padding the ticket price and getting nothing, you get fed. It's not a charity-enjoy your cheap tickets and spend the $18 for some mozzarella sticks and coke. Same goes for seating-comedy clubs don't leave 2 empty seats at a 4 person table unless you wanna buy all 4 seats. Imagine going to a concert at T-Mobile Park and being upset that a stranger is sitting next to you. Great club! Can't wait to come back. PS, please bring Todd Glass!
