Doing business with this company is very risky I recently purchased a 2000 dollar bike from them that was too small and returned it two days later and they agreed to take it back and did so. I saved for over a year to buy this bike and paid them in cash. When I returned it they told me I would have to wait for them to send me a check to get my money back. We'll guess what it's been almost a month and I still don't have my money back. When ever I call I get passed around from person to person and fed with excuses of why I haven't received my refund they probably already sold the bike to someone else and made their money. Really sucks that they can just keep people's money for as long as they feel like. I WANT MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!WHERE IS IT!!!!!! I would think twice before doing any business with this company they appear to be very very dishonest and shady. I definitely got burned!!!!!!!!!!

After getting blown off by the folks at Larry's Bootfitting on Folsom, who charged me $100 just to make an appointment with them, only to tell me after I arrived that they could not possibly deal with a minor ski boot adjustment in anything less than 10 days (!), I asked for a refund on my appointment fee and promptly went across the street to Epic Mountain Gear. I walked in with my ski boots in hand and they were able to see me immediately. There, I met with two real experts on bootfitting, both in their 50's or 60's, who were extremely knowledgeable: Fred and Steve. They knew all about my somewhat older racing boots (Nordica Dobermans 130), which are made from a thicker plastic and require slightly different tools to punch out. They used a clever magnet trick, with a ferrous tape placed on my foot, to find the EXACT spot that needed adjustment. I only needed about 2 mm of relief. I left my boots with them to punch out, and Steve did the work himself that same night, rather than hand it over to a subordinate. My ski boots were ready for pickup the very next morning -- and not 10 days later! I took them to Aspen and skied there for several days, pain free. Their work was PERFECT. I commend Fred and Steve, and I intend to go to Epic from now on, rather than Larry's.

He walked us through all the different types of snowboards, their uses, and prices, making sure we understood our options. He also helped us find a great set of bindings. I used to go here back when it was called Boulder Ski Deals many years ago. Yesterday, I returned here for a boot fitting because my current ski boots were absolutely killing my feet. I scheduled an appointment and got Aron. Aron knew his stuff and provided excellent customer service. He spent approximately 2 hours of his time, focusing on just me and my situation. It was really refreshing to see this level of customer service. It's rare now days to get someone who cares and spends the time on a customer like he did. If you need help with ski boots, I highly recommend Aron. Good guy, experienced in his area of expertise and provided excellent customer service. I can only hope a review like this also gets to his management as they should know the employees who are going above and beyond and exceeding the standards in customer service. I will absolutely continue doing business here and I highly recommend Epic Mountain Gear for your outdoor adventures.

He was super knowledgeable and very patient while testing out different options. He was also great for recommending a new deck.
