We had a pretty fun time on the cruise and would recommend it for the Independence Day fireworks display on the Brooklyn Bridge. We cruised on the Freedom. The instructions on where to line up were fairly clear once we got to the pier, but we didn’t know that we would be standing out in the hot sun for over an hour with no shade. It was first come, first serve for seating so we wanted to be there early enough to get a decent seat. We were able to get good seats arriving an hour before departure time and the views of the firework show were amazing plus we cruised right past the Statue of Liberty. It was a grab and go food situation - the sandwiches were mediocre & small, but you could have more than one. The choices were turkey & ham, roast beef, chicken, or a black bean burger vegetarian option. The grab & go meal was only sandwich, one drink, and a cupcake. Bags of chips or a snickers bar (only option) were $5/ea. The drink line was crazy long so if you want a drink, get down there quickly as soon as you get to the boat and secure a seat. The line dies down after the cruise has been going for a while, but most people want a drink right away. The bottles of water were not cold, which was pretty disappointing since we had just been standing in the sun for quite some time, but the soda was nice and cold. They also offered canned beer, White Claw, or wine for purchase. They had a DJ on board, but the music was not coming through the speakers well. It was mostly just static so he stopped playing for the majority of the cruise but then on the way back into the slip, he played music and it sounded great. Too bad we didn’t have it for the full cruise because that part made it even more fun. All in all, the views of the fireworks were amazing. It was an excellent way to see them! We chatted with the people around us and had a good time overall. We would definitely go again to see the fireworks.
