Well, my personal experience was amazing because I made it that way. You have to make it a great time on your own, though you can come to this solo and dance with other individuals here. I brought my own dance partner who is Devine to dance with. You don’t Have to bring someone in order to be able to dance, though. I have been dancing 26+ years & have been to hundreds of venues around the world. Firehouse was great back in the day, even when it was at Queen Bee’s was pretty good. It’s eh ok now. They get an extra star for having live music. That’s the reason why I came out tonight to dance here. Otherwise, the dancers here are mostly 20-something year old beginners. I can’t speak to the caliber of the dance lessons. The sticking point for me is that I have yet to feel welcomed at this venue since it changed ownership around 5 years ago. I’m one of the new swing revival dancers, from the 90’s and you’d think they’d be happy to have me. Maybe ask me to dance? Or, possibly even speak With me instead of speaking with someone else About me while watching me dance….¿!? Perhaps? Therefore, there needs to be a Reason, like the live band tonight, to get me to show up here. And the live band was Great! So worth it!!

Amazing instructors, super casual and educational classes, and not expensive at all. I wish I could give this place higher than a 5 star.

This is San Diego's longest-running weekly swing dance. A great way to enjoy some vintage and modern swing music, get in some exercise and meet some new people. All styles are represented: lindy hop, balboa, east coast swing, charleston, etc. This event is held at the Queen Bee's Cultural Event Center in North Park. Large dance floor, quality audio system. The schedule rotates between live bands and DJed events. Lessons are offered as well as snacks and drinks for purchase.
