When asking yourself about something to do near me in Atlanta with a group of friends or family, consider
Fox Theatre

Why Fox Theatre is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
The Fox Theatre in Atlanta stands as a magnificent cultural landmark, celebrated for its stunning Moorish architecture and rich history dating back to 1929. Originally designed as a grand headquarters for Atlanta's Shriners, the theater drew inspiration from iconic structures such as Spain’s Alhambra and Egypt’s Temple of Karnak, featuring ornate details like soaring domes, minarets, intricate gold leaf, and beautiful trompe l’oeil artwork. After opening on Christmas Day 1929 and premiering Disney’s Steamboat Willie, this historic venue quickly became a community favorite for showcasing movies, opera, live acts, and dances. Despite facing closure and potential demolition in the 1970s, the passionate community rallied to save and restore it, resulting in a spectacular reopening in 1975. Today, operated by a nonprofit organization, the Fox Theatre hosts over 250 events annually, including Broadway hits and legendary concerts, making it an ideal place to meet friends and enjoy outstanding entertainment within a magnificent and memorable setting.

I absolutely love the Fox! It is classy, and people know how to act! I like to go where people know how to act! I have been here many times and seen plays from Tyler Perry to The Color Purple! Comedy shows ranging from Chris Tucker to Kountry Wayne! I always have a great time at the Fox! I started taking my oldest son and now I take my youngest. They are 12 years apart. The Fox has never disappointed me.

4-6-25: Ive always been a huge fan of the Fox Theater . When you walk up you see the flashing lights from the signs; the esthetic draws you in. Make sure to get your pictures in front of the signs and posters. The food is still very expensive but if u want popvorn you gotta buy it. Oh and they gave a new rule about your purse size. I went to the matinee show of parade and let me tell you it was moving. I really enjoyed act two the most. I was concerned because I didn't know how they were gonna make a musical out of the Leo Frank story of the murder at the pencil factory in Atlanta, but It was wonderful, and I highly recommend it. *The only thing that I hate the most is when it's intermission, and you have to use the bathroom and you're like a herd of cows going down the stairs, there's got to be another way for them to figure out how to filter people down to the restroom.

Don’t pass up a chance to see this artist if you can, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to my best friend for taking me here & to see Bonamassa!! I absolutely loved it! I have seen many shows here over the last year, maybe 10 or so. There's a lways plenty of parking although not cheap! If you mind a short walk you can definitely find parking in the street for free. The venue itself is pretty nice, sometimes better than others but that may depend on the seats. Some shows are harder to hear but I've noticed in different locations I have a better experience. The balcony seems to be good every time. The seats aren't at any type onf incline so there's always someone's head in the way, again, unless you're in the balcony. Take it from me, it's a learning experience so trust me choose seats wisely. The popcorn is 6 and 8 bucks, a water is 5. Not too expensive but just make sure you get a fresh bucket of popcorn...you'll thank me. Enjoy your show!
