The student life center presents you with a variety of sporting and relaxation sites for your many pleasures. As a gym enthusiast, I find the legacy gym very embracing with its inviting choice of colors. Not only is the gym spacious, it has almost all the necessary equipment for your preferred muscle groups, including studio rooms and aerobic equipment. I’m particularly impressed with the number of dumbbells there are - as well as other little things such as resistance bands, that add to the tiny pleasures! Two downsides to the gym though - the dumbbells do not go beyond 100lbs (I would love for more - 150lbs). Secondly, the gym doesn’t run 24/7 (understandably so, because it is mostly staffed by students - but still sad nonetheless). The jury is still out on their “no photography/videography” policy. I personally find it ludicrous because the gym is one place where people take loads of photos and videos - and not just for vain purposes, but to monitor progress. I think that policy can be adjusted a little bit! In all, no regrets signing up to the GSESLC. If I may suggest one machine for them to acquire, then it will be the pendulum machine - for deep squats and more workout mats please!!! A solid 7/10

Soon to be renamed the Karen Eccles School of where’s the Management and HOAs Hours are regularly updated to close upon your arrival. Students are encouraged to askew belongings in the hallway and reserve unused lockers for future alumni. Does removing soap from the men’s room constitute a Title IX issue?

The Student Life Center is a great resource for any student at the U to enjoy. The cardio machines and indoor track are particularly useful. It isn't even super crowded anymore, because an EOS was built near Trolley Square. Now, the EOS shares a lot of the gym patrons with the Student Life Center, which makes both gyms less crowded. The machines are great, and you can usually get to the one you want pretty fast.

The worst management ever. Always closed or their hours are short. They open at 8 am and close at 6 pm on weekends. They never allow family and kids during week. Old equipment and rude staff and manger. It seems they have never worked out in their entire life!

The student life center hosts a gym that includes free weights, squat racks, machines, and an indoor track. There are also several basketball courts and an indoor soccer arena, as well as both indoor and outdoor pools for lap swimming, recreation, and a hot tub. In the basement you can find a climbing gym with both bouldering and top roping, as well combat sports training room. Classes, personal trainers, and rental equipment are available for all of these activities, in addition to yoga and spin classes. Facilities are clean and the staff is very friendly and happy to help answer any questions you may have. To access the student life center you must be an active student, an alumni, or be visiting with an alumni or student who can sponsor you. Guests and alumni pay an $8 fee that grants them access to everything listed above. Additionally, alumni can purchase a monthly pass for around $24/month. Students and alumni also have access to Outdoor Adventures on the second floor where outdoor equipment, such as biking, Backcountry skiing, camping, and more of all can be rented for several days at a time for a modest fee. As both a previous employee of the Student Life Center, and a U of U alumni, I absolutely love this place and all the amazing things it offers. Definitely one of the best amenities offered by the University of Utah.
