Wow, best brunch that I’ve had in a long time! We did have to wait for around 30 minutes to get a table (factor this in potentially if you’re trying to visit around brunch hours), but there’s plenty to do/see in the immediate area! Food was excellent! Highly recommend the spinach feta omelette (I added pesto), and the biscuits! It’s hard to find a proper biscuit out of the south in my opinion but these were spot on. Portion sizes were large and good value for the price, service was attentive, and the vibe was cute—sort of a rustic diner feel. Would definitely come back! Other members in my party ordered the pesto scrambled eggs, the omelet special of the day, and the casserole. All were tasty!

I’ve been coming to Geraldine’s Counter for over 15 years, and the food is as consistent and comforting as ever. Their special today, sour cream pancakes with blueberry butter was out of this world… fluffy, slightly tangy, and perfectly balanced with the sweet butter. The sourdough toast with jam is also a must, thick cut, toasted just right, and paired with the best jam I’ve ever had. You can truly taste the love and care in everything they serve. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours but it’s always worth it. The staff are kind, the portions are generous, and the vibe is cozy and welcoming. A true neighborhood gem.

French toast was crispy and really quite amazing. Country fried steak was covered in a really good gravy that’s one of the better ones I’ve tried. The food just feels better made than other diners in the city. We came right when the restaurant opened so it was quite empty. Can image over the weekends the crowd will build up quite quickly.

When my brother suggested we go to Geraldine's Counter for a late lunch, I was quite hesitant. It was 1:50pm and we were in North Seattle. The place closes at 3pm and it was Memorial Day, so I was worried that we would not get served so close to closing time. My brother told me it was worth the try, and that I would like it. He was not wrong. We split a half order of the French toast, I ordered the casserole, and he had the chicken fried steak. With coffee, a lemonade, and a side of bacon, the bill was not cheap, but yes, I would say it was worth it! The food was excellent, well presented, and the staff were extremely friendly, despite our late arrival. Columbia City is a little far to go for a meal, but I would definitely do it again.
